## Description

Each kit pairs a YoLink Hub with multiple leak sensors you place near common risk points such as bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, water heaters, and sump areas. When water is detected, you receive app, email, and SMS/text alerts so you can act fast. Built on LoRa, YoLink reaches where Wi-Fi struggles, with up to 1/4-mile open-air range. Unlike Wi-Fi-only systems, YoLink can act even without internet: with Control-D2D, sensors can directly trigger other YoLink devices—like sirens or motorized shutoff valves—for local protection during outages. Leak Sensor 1 is a silent sensor with no built-in siren; Leak Sensor 4 adds a built-in 105 dB audible alarm. Each sensor uses two AAA batteries and delivers up to five years of typical battery life. Review: Worth it for peace of mind; a leak can create a lot of damage fast! - After a colleague had a MAJOR leak that caused a lot of damage, I decided to get water leak sensors and picked the YoLink ones after a lot of reading/research. So far (about a month), I've been very happy with them. They were easy to set up and connect, and I tested each one by setting it in water to be sure it worked. All triggered a leak alert to my phone. We bought this starter kit as well as additional sensors to cover all anticipated leak locations at home. We connected the hub via ethernet to our router for stability and so far, all has worked well and has provided peace of mind for a reasonable cost. Initially, we had some trouble with losing the Internet connection, but then I discovered that it works best when plugged in using the actual plug - not just inserting the USB end into my power strip. Using the actual plug provides more stable power and since doing that, I have not had trouble with losing the Internet connection. When our Internet goes down (e.g. a storm or a need for a reboot), the YoLink router comes back smoothly most of the time. If it doesn't, unplug the hub from the router, reboot the router, then plug the modem & router back in, plugging the hub back in last.

I don’t usually think much about water leaks, until one nearly turned into a very expensive problem. Installing the YoLink Water Leak Sensor ended up being one of those small decisions that quietly pays for itself in a big way. I had it set up two years ago, mainly as a precaution. Last summer, we traveled abroad on vacation, so there was no one at home. I had left the main water supply on to keep the lawn irrigation running. Mid vacation, a leak started, at the worst possible time! What made the difference was the instant alert. I received a notification on my phone that water had been detected. Instead of finding out 10 days after, I was able to act immediately. I called a friend who had a spare key, asked him to check the house, and he quickly shut off the main water supply. That one alert likely prevented what could have been thousands of dollars in damaged floors, walls, and everything in between. It turned a potential disaster into a minor inconvenience. What I appreciate most is the peace of mind it provides, especially when you’re not home. It’s not something you think about daily, but in situations like this, it proves its value instantly. Looking back, it’s hard not to see it as an essential part of a home setup. It’s a simple device, but one that can make a very real difference when it matters most.
