Love this! I absolutely detest grating cheese, and I do it a lot. This grater saved me! Also saved my knuckles. It grates very fast and holds firmly to the counter.

I already own a rotary grater -- plastic snap-in blades, wider feed chute, basic lever lock. It works GREAT. I bought this Geedel specifically to upgrade to stainless steel drums, because plastic blades touching food never fully sat right with me and I wanted something built to last. I was willing to sacrifice convenient storage of the snap-in blades for slightly unwieldy stainless steel tubes. Most of this delivers: The stainless steel drums are sharp, solid, and satisfying to swap. The dial that locks the drum in place is a genuine upgrade over the old flip-lever style, it is smooth, secure, no wobble, no accidental releases mid-grate (unlike the one mentioned above). The suction base holds firm. The crank turns like it means business. Everything about this grater says quality right up until the moment you try to feed it something and expect it to come out easily. That spout is the whole problem. It is narrow in a way that feels like an oversight rather than a choice. My old plastic grater with its wider spout never made me dig out the cheese or veggies or whatever I was shredding. That wider opening was not a cheap shortcut , it was the whole point. Four stars: the dial lock alone is worth switching for, the stainless steel is exactly what I wanted, and the chute is the only thing standing between this grater and true perfection.

I mainly bought it for grating cheese. I have grated cheddar and monterey cheese. It shreds cheese with such ease that I had a smile on my face. A whole block of Tillamook cheese took about 3min. The insert opening is wide but you still need to cut the block of cheese length wise. The opening is not wide enough for a russet potato, but a small Idaho potato would work.

It took me a while to cave in and buy one of these but when I messed up my food processor trying to grate some cheese, I decided it was time. Checked the reviews and decided on the blue one. Received it quickly and it was easy to assemble. Comes with 3 different rotator cups. Had some hard chunks of Parmesan cheese ready to be grated and made quick work of preparing fresh, finely grated Parmesan! The counter grip worked great and it was easy to take apart, clean and store. Am very happy with my purchase!
