Inventive f/f fantasy
This book was sold to me as f/f enemies-to-lovers with court politics and musings on what it means to be human, and it delivers, with a cleverly designed world of Automae who have overcome and now rule the humans who created them, and the relationship between the ruler's perfectly crafted daughter and the spy who is set on killing her at the forefront. The court politics and twists won't be too much of a surprise to anyone who reads widely in the genre, but the emotion-drenched writing and rich world carry the story nicely, and the ending had me ready to pre-order The Iron Heart instantly. For fans of The Winner's Curse, Of Fire and Stars, or Westworld.
