Wedding Videographer’s Review (They’re GREAT!)
I have only used them at one wedding so far, and my wife used them to make some videos with her phone for her work. So this is not a long term review, but I can definitely speak to their function, form factor, and usability. Firstly ease of use, they are so easy to use. Make sure you update the firmware, then you can just pop them out of the case and they work. Obviously you’ll want to adjust the settings to fit your use case, but even if you didn’t, they still work. My wife took them to shoot a video for her work’s social media (she’s a mental health counselor) she plugged the receiver into her phone, clipped the mic on and boom shot a great video with super clean audio. I set them up to automatically start recording internally as soon as I take the mic out of the case, which is great for wedding audio. I’ve already had the internal recording save me. The wedding officiant was saying introductions while the groom was lined up waiting to walk, and they were both talking over eachother so for that portion if I need that audio I will use the internal recording. I didn’t think the wireless audio monitoring would be as amazing and everyone said it was, but I was wrong. My couple wanted to do a private vow reading but they wanted it recorded. I mic’d up the groom, put my cameras on tripods, and gave them their space. The wireless monitoring helped a ton because I could clearly hear that both of their voices were coming through perfectly. The Holly Land Lark Max 2 is so useful, easy to conceal, picks up clean audio, the battery lasted all day. I honestly couldn’t be happier with them. I will say I bought them at full price right before they went on sale and was super bummed. They are worth full price, but if you can snag them on a sale then definitely do that! There is so much more I could say, but they aren’t just wireless mics, they’re tiny little stand alone recorders, that also transmit a clean wireless signal straight to your camera. They’re lav mics, they just do it all. Happy customer.

Super useful and compact high-quality audio kit
I almost have trouble believing how good this kit is, but I've used it on a few projects now and this set of mics is really quite spectacular, especially for the price. (1): battery life is excellent. I filmed a three-day tournament and the mics lasted long enough for days that went from 8am to 10pm. The receiver would last the whole day. Each mic itself would last about half a day (so like 7 hours). I bought the extra Sony hotshoe adapter to eliminate cables and that is awesome. (2): size is very nice and almost discreet. Putting the magnet on the outside and the mic on the inside of a person's shirt worked just fine. Or just clipping right to their clothes or lanyard also worked great. (3): voice isolation at lowest setting cut enough of the ambient noise (in a large space that held over 350 people) that the speaker's voice came through loud and clear. very convenient and impressive. (4): I haven't yet taken advantage of the internal recording, but I like to know I have that option and I'm sure it'll come in handy very soon. (5): I was hoping that both the full receiver and the smartphone receiver would work simultaneously, but it appears to have to be one of them at a time only. Not a big deal, just would be nice to have if using an iphone as an extra camera. Hopefully Hollyland can add that as a firmware update?

Fantastic Wireless Mic Kit Easy to use!
I’ve been blown away by how simple and convenient the LARK MAX 2 Ultimate Combo is to use. Right out of the box, everything was ready to go—no complicated setup, just pure plug-and-play. One of the biggest highlights is the amount of included accessories. Hollyland really thought of everything, making it easy to adapt to different shooting situations without having to buy extra add-ons. The system comes with two transmitters, which is perfect for interviews, podcasts, or multi-talent shoots. The receiver connects directly into my phone with ease, or I can mount it on my camera hot shoe, which is incredibly versatile. The sound quality is excellent, with 32-bit float recording that gives me peace of mind knowing my audio won’t clip or distort. The long-range wireless connection has been rock solid too, which is perfect for shoots where I need more flexibility and distance. Another feature I love is the included monitoring earpieces. Being able to monitor audio in real time without additional gear is a huge bonus and gives me confidence that my sound is exactly how I want it. Overall, this kit makes professional-quality audio simple and reliable.

I Sound Like Netflix, Even in My Kitchen
I didn’t think a microphone kit could make me feel like a rockstar AND a secret agent at the same time, but the Hollyland LARK MAX 2 Ultimate Combo pulled it off. First off, the setup is so easy it feels like cheating. Open the case, clip the mics, and suddenly I sound like I belong on a Netflix documentary instead of yelling into my phone like a lost tourist. The AI noise cancel is a miracle—tested it next to a barking dog, a running dishwasher, and my neighbor’s “wannabe DJ” practice session, and it still made me sound crisp, clear, and surprisingly professional. The 32-bit full-chain audio recording is a dream for people who hate watching audio levels like a hawk. You could whisper sweet nothings or yell like you just stubbed your toe—either way, it captures it perfectly without clipping. Pair that with wireless audio monitoring and those slick OWS earphones, and suddenly I feel like I’m directing a Hollywood production in my living room. The charging case is the cherry on top—compact, sleek, and it feels like I’m carrying a gadget out of a spy movie. It keeps everything topped up so I’m never caught with a dead mic mid-take. In short: this kit is overkill in the best way possible. If you’re creating YouTube videos, TikToks, weddings, or just want to narrate your daily life with flawless audio (because why not?), the LARK MAX 2 is your new best friend.

Great improvements and additions to set, now I own both generations
Great improvements! I own both the Max 1 and now the Max 2, and they’re both solid. I got the Max 2 because it could work better with a gimbal and has other features that the first one lacks. It’s compatible with action cameras, cameras, mobile phones, and has a receiver, which is great since the cable mess up some of my shots for a documentary on the DJI gimbal. So now I’ll be able to use it with a gimbal without any issues. However, the sound is the same. Maybe the second one has slightly better sound quality, but they’re both great. The Max 2 also has a mobile app, which is convenient for solo filmmakers or small crews. And the headphones are a great addition. One thing about the headphones is that I wish they had better instructions to understand how to connect or operate them. So, Bluetooth mode doesn’t monitor the RX signal; it’s made for camera devices like phones, tablets, action cameras, etc. To monitor the RX signal, you need to be in 2.4G mode (white light) so you can hear what’s being said into the mic. I had to YouTube this to understand how to use the headphones and how to connect them. That’s why they get 4 stars; it was a terrible experience. But other than that, everything is great. I love that you can use the app to access settings if you have an extra device that you’re not shooting on, unlike me because I use my phone. This is a good price for what you get, and I like it better than DJI, who only works with their mic. But for the second gimbal (Hohem M7), which is more compatible with this device, the only problem is that you need to set it up like a YouTube video I watched to rig it out a little bit with the mic, SSD, and battery. But the M7 can handle the weight better than DJI’s Osmo Mobile gimbals. Also, this has so many more options than the Gen 1. You can connect a lav mic using an adapter, which is cool, but the Gen 1 had it built-in.

What a great microphone!
As the director of a nationally recognized high school TV program, CCNN Live, I rely on equipment that can keep up with the fast pace of live production and student storytelling. The Hollyland Lark MAX 2 has been a game-changer for us. The audio quality is pristine, even in noisy environments, and the AI-powered noise cancellation makes a huge difference when recording in hallways, classrooms, or crowded events. My students love how easy it is to set up and monitor, and the range and battery life give us the flexibility to record anywhere on campus without worrying about dropouts or running out of power mid-shoot. The compact design is perfect for high school students who are still learning the ropes—they can clip it on quickly, and it just works. For us, reliability is everything, and this system has delivered every time. If it can handle the daily chaos of a live student broadcast, it can handle anything. Highly recommended for anyone serious about professional-quality wireless audio.

Hollyland Keeps Raising the Bar
I’ve always been impressed with Hollyland’s products, and they’ve upped it again with the Lark Max M2. This system is packed with features that go way beyond what I expected. The wireless earbuds are a total game changer—especially for my media students. Being able to monitor audio clearly and discreetly is going to take their projects to a whole new level. The sound quality is excellent—clean, crisp, and reliable. But what really stands out is the flexibility. The addition of an adapter to use lav mics only when needed is just brilliant. It keeps the setup simple when you want it, and pro-level when you need it. With options like timecode support and the ability to pair up to four mics to a single receiver, you can customize the setup to fit just about any production scenario. Whether it’s a solo shoot, multi-person interview, or classroom project, it’s got you covered. Yes, there’s a bit of a learning curve because there are so many settings—but that’s actually a good thing. Once you get the hang of it, you realize how much control you really have. The only area that could use improvement is the printed instructions—they’re a bit hard to follow. But Hollyland has solid tutorials online, so it’s easy to figure out once you head to their site. Bottom line: this is another big win from Hollyland. Whether you're teaching, creating content, or working professionally, the Lark Max M2 delivers

Very good quality mic set!
First of all I want to say that I really love this mic set. I love the clips and the overall form factor of the transmitters. I can clip the microphone inside my shirt and only the clip shows in the video. Even when clipping it outside of the shirt, the long form factor of the mic prevents it from leaning forward like I see so many other wireless mics do. The audio quality is quite good. I have used the internal recording without connecting the mic to the phone. I just synced in post. I also love the ability to wirelessly monitor the audio. I don't use it much, but it is great that it's there when I do need it. I am someone who is unable to concentrate on what I'm saying when there is a considerable delay in monitoring. And while this Hollyland has a delay, it is VERY slight and it doesn't distract me from talking. The best way I can describe it is just like hearing an echo when talking in a room. It's there but it's not enough to be distracting. I did encounter a slight issue with my unit. I've attached a video below. This was shot at a beach within a state park. So I'm assuming that the airwaves was clear of interferences. In the video, the receiver was attached to my camera and I am standing less than 10 feet away from it. Notice that every time the microphone starts cutting out whenever it doesn't have a direct line of sight to the receiver. I am unable to recreate this at home... even going to another room, the mic stayed solidly connected. However, I contacted Hollyland about this. The customer service was very responsive but didn't really gave me a solution other than the typical spiel of "we'll hit the ground running to address this issue and let you know". Well, after a few back and forth like that, I didn't hear back until I received a notification e-mail saying that the issue was resolved. I replied back telling the automated e-mail that I was told to wait for a reply. The next day, another customer representative e-mailed me. I'm assuming that this second person was from their office is China (the first one I'm assuming was from the US), and have been much more helpful. I clarified if he/she thought if the problem is software and I was told that it most likely is a hardware issue. I was told to send it to them for analysis. I was still within the Amazon return period so rather than going through that with Hollyland, I just exchanged it on Amazon. Overall, I'm very please with this mic system.
