Mochi was perfect as a topping for dessert
I've bought this mochi brand before and they were excellent. This time I bought 2 packs. The first pack was fine, but the 2nd pack - when I opened it - some pieces had mold in it already.

Nice and soft!
If you know mochi you know lol these arrived fresh as they were very soft. Good quality. I wish they made a black sesame flavor of these. I used to buy them from a site that was the only place that made these in this size and in that flavor but discontinued them a while ago, i always check back but its been a few years now, oh well...It's okay I can just buy the bigger mochi in other flavors. These are like mini marshmallows but a little less sweet and a bit softer. The more fresh the more soft with a bit of stretch ๐ ๐

***NOT MOCHI***
Definitely not machine or "machine rice cakes". I had high hopes because of a review saying to ignore the bad reviews because they didnt understand what 4ice cakes were, but i would ignore that review. My husband lived in Japan for 2 years and I've come to love all kinds of mochi and this ain't it. No chewy texture that mochi has and the taste doesn't even match either. Too bad because I was so excited and we don't live close to market to get the real ones.
