Hubbard Scientific Raised Relief Map 950 Colorado State Map

Description

Raised relief maps are superior visual references that give a new perspective. Not only do these maps show you the beauty of the land, they allow you to touch a scaled representation of the mountains and valleys. Fully three-dimensional, these vacuum-formed vinyl maps also use color and shading to represent elevation changes so you get a better understanding of the terrain and landforms. These maps make unique wall decor for home or office. Perfect for anyone who likes to travel Colorado; and a wonderfully decorative and informative item for native or newcomer. These maps were prepared using base materials originally produced by the U.S. Geological Survey for their definitive 1:250,000-scale series. Those extremely detailed bases identify thousands of features, such as even minor lakes and streams ignored by most maps. Raven Maps brought the U.S.G.S. materials up to date with current roads and reservoirs. They then went far beyond the originals by adding color tints to depict elevation. The colors progress from greens at lower elevations, through yellows and browns, to grey and finally white at the highest altitudes in Colorado. This sequence of color steps replaces the abstraction of contour lines with a graphic picture of elevation -- and, in combination with the raised relief provided by Hubbard Scientific, of the entire landform.
