Use this sharpener and your scissors may never cut again. In the past, I did jobs using a precision scissors sharpening machine for a commercial drapery company. **Q: Is this work better than conventional Sharpening Steel?** A: Sharpening steel doesn't remove material from the knife, therefore if a knife is dull, steel will not be able to make it sharp again. I found this KitchenIQ 50009 is the easiest and cheapest solution to sharpen the knife. However, this tool is designed for the right-handed people in mind. If you are left handed, it'd be a little awkward to use. You need to place this tool on a stable surface and hold it with your left hand. Place the knife in the coarse slot, nearest to the handle, apply little pressure down and pull the knife toward you. (Too much pressure can gouge you knife due to uneven material removal.) Lift the knife up and repeat as many times as you want until you can cut a piece of paper with ease. You should see some metal shaving in this step.
