Russell Hobbs Inspire Electric 1.7L Cordless Kettle (Fast Boil 3KW, White premium textured plastic, high gloss finish, Removable washable anti-scale filter, Pull off lid, Perfect pour spout) 24360

Only had it for a few days, but I love the looks and the weight, which is lighter than my previous Smeg. It boils quite fast, and it is reasonably quiet, which are ALL plus marks in my book. It pours easily, and the lid lifts off completely, which are again sensible features. I've owned 3 x Smeg kettles, and they are absolutely NOT worth the current retail price. None of them lasted past two years, and all suffered the same switch problem. It's just not acceptable. That is why I decided to look at another brand. There are a few Smeg lookalikes out there and plenty to rival them in looks and features - never mind the price!! IMHO, no kettle should cost more than an air-fryer, which is far more technical! I settled on Russell Hobbs, and even if I only got a year out of this kettle, it would still be a massive saving over Smeg - in my book, that's a no-brainer. It does everything it says it does. It was a great price, and delivery was quick as well.

Good value, makes gd toast, looks good but can show finger marks on metal part as most metal does, wipes off easily

Bought May 2023 - died Jan 2026 (literally just stopped working, the light on the back is still on). Other than that, it has a nice look, it boiled very quickly, not too loud, generous for water, and no problems. Still looks new-ish, to the extent I had to check when I bought it

Love my new kettle. Looks so good and shiny too. Boils quickly and I can just fill it for 1 cup as there is a measure inside. Good value

Well, it's a kettle and it boils water, so from that point of view it functions perfectly well. But then so do thousands of other kettles available to buy. I only bought this because I needed a microwave and I like having a matching set in my kitchen, and to be fair, it does look very pretty. Unfortunately that's where the good news stops. They have stupidly put the water level indicator behind the handle. So when you're filling the kettle you can't see how much water you're putting into it. Why couldn't they put it just to one side of the kettle? Secondly, another problem is the water level is measured in cups so you can pour in two cups or 4 cups or 8 cups worth of water. The problem is they have absolutely no idea what size cup I'm using: am I going to fill the 200 mil cup today or the 500ml sports direct mug that every house has? Or even my 1.5 l kettle? Of course, if they bothered to tell us what size they think a cup is, I would at least be able to work it out. But no. So, as a kettle, does it boil water fairly quickly and quietly? Yes. Is it easy enough to fill? Yes, the lid comes off completely and you can pour the water in through the top. You'll have to work out for yourself how much water you're putting in the kettle time though.

Great for price. Nice extra features. Wide slots - can fit a whole bagel in, check feature... Would recommend
