BUCK(バック) The 55 フォールディングハンター 055

キャンプに持って行くポケットナイフの中でも薄くて小型ですが、歴史のある外観のためか所有欲が満たされます。 写真はスパイダルコのDragonfly2、Buck 055、ビクトリノックスCompact、オピネル6を並べています。何かの参考になれば。 重さがDragonflyよりもありますが、個人的には許容範囲内です。 あと、真鍮部分の汚れ等に関するコメントがありますが、個別にビニールに包装した状態で出荷されているわけではないので、当然につくかと思います。 私はメガネクリーナーのような布で少し拭きましたが、個人的には全く気になりませんでした。

主に渓流釣りに携帯しています。食材のカットはもちろん魚をさばいたりしてますが切味は良いです。そんなに期待はしてなかったんですが、手の大きくない私にはとても使い易いです。

55はbuck社の原点・110をポケットサイズにまで小型化したものです。刀身の形状は110と同じくクリップポイントであり、刺す・穿る・切る・削ぐといった幅広い用途が可能となっています。 展開時には信頼性の高いロックバック方式がしっかりと刃を固定し、刀身のぐらつきなどはまったくありません。また刀身に対して柄が長く確保されているため、小型の折り畳みナイフの中ではしっかりと握れ、安心して使用することが可能となっています。ただし頑丈で用途の広いナイフといえど、あくまでも小型のポケットナイフであるという点は留意すべきでしょう。 欠点は、箱から出した時点で製造時の汚れ、金属滓、油脂などが高確率でこびりついていること。刃のつき方がまちまちで、個体によっては先ず最初に自分で研ぐ必要性に駆られる事が挙げられます。また柄の主材料が木材と真鍮という関係上、使用後のマメな手入れは欠かせないでしょう。 そうした手間を受け入れた上で、使用と所有を楽しむ、そういうナイフだと思います。

ハンドルのブラス（真鍮）とナチュラルウッドが贅沢な美しさをはなっています。実用はもちろんのこと、コレクションアイテムとしても満足できる名品だと思いますよ。手にズッシリとくる重量感もとても心地いいです。

110や112辺りから想像すると物凄くちっぽけな印象を受けてしまう感じで、思わず本物？と疑ってしまった。 ネットで売られている価格も12,000円くらいからあるので一番安めの価格で購入出来た事も一因ですが。 ガタツキもなく切れ味も良く全体的に隙のない仕上がりです。 刃を出して握った感じは人差し指から薬指の３本の指だけで握る感じの大きさです。 休日の家でのDIYや作業時にジーパンのポケットに常に入れておくとわりと出番が多く重宝してます。 家から少し離れた別宅の周りが藪になって来て草刈り機だけで作業ができると思ったら、鳥が落とした糞に混じったタネが発育し雑木が生えてきてしまって難義していたのですが、ダメ元でポケットにあったこのナイフで幹を削ぐ感じで見事に始末する事ができました。 結構ハードな使い方でしたがガタつきが出るわけでも刃がダメになるわけでもありませんでした。 素晴らしい！ 積極的に使って味が出てくる様にしたいと思いますました

After having just purchased the 50th Anniversary edition of the Buck 11o folding hunting knife, I had to have this smaller version of that knife for everyday carry. Let me start by saying I am not a knife collector, I don't keep knives in a box, but I do purchase a lot of knives. To me, every true red blooded American should own this knife, or any man for that matter. This knife is the little brother of an American classic and it is every bit as functional and beautiful as the Buck 110, both of which are made in America! After holding the Buck 110 in my hands and seeing how beautiful the craftsmanship was, I wanted more. I wanted a knife like that that was small enough for me to carry with me everywhere. Enter the Buck 55. This knife is almost an exact miniature version of the 110. The Knife I received was shaving sharp right out of the box, literally (I have the bald spot on the back of my hand to prove it). There was absolutely zero side to side blade wiggle (a good test of any quality knife), and the blade is gorgeous. This knife is made out of the same 440HC steel used on the Buck 110. This is a special 440 High Carbon steel I believe only used by Buck and it is very well known for holding an edge exceptionally well. Carry... I like to have a knife on me at all times, and I had been wanting to get a new EDC carry knife for quite some time. I don't think I'll be saying those words ever again for the rest of my knife. This knife will be in my pocket until the day I die, and even then I am sure it will still be in excellent working condition and be handed down to my daughter. The Buck 55 fits perfectly in the 5th pocket in a pair of jeans which is really nice. My previous EDC knife was a CRKT Kasper (CRKT makes some great knives at great reasonable prices) and I had carried that knife for over 5 years. I work in an office environment and don't like having a large knife sticking out of my pocket but always want a good knife on me at all times. This knife is perfect if that sounds similar to you. It's unassuming so as fine to use in an office but 100% up to serious cutting tasks. If not abused, this is a knife that lasts a lifetime and will look good doing it. If you are on the fence about this knife, I highly recommend buying it now. It is worth every penny and you will not be disappointed. You can't beat Bucks 4Ever warranty either. I am nostalgic man and already think about how cool it is that this knife will get handed down to my family when I am no longer around, as I know this knife will surely outlast me.

What this product to replace one I lost many years ago. Just what I was looking for.

I am not a knife collector, but I do like to have a few good knives to choose from to keep around me when a need for one arises. After a while of contemplating getting my first Buck, I went to a local store and held the 55. I immediately loved it. It is small and narrow and easy to hold. The transitions from the wood to the metal is the smoothest I have ever seen. There are a lot of small details about this knife, such as the beautiful two-tone ebony wood. This knife also came quite sharp. My son and I tried it out on a piece of wood and very little effort was needed to do a decent whittle. It opens easily, but is stiff enough not to worry that it will open when not desired. The lock is easy to disengage, with a little more pressure than I usually use, but not so much that my thumb gets a groove (it’s also a new knife, so that’ll work in some more). While I was not excited to spend approx. $70 on a knife (I had never spent more that $30 on a knife that I can recall), I was excited to get my first ever Buck and I love that the 55 is like a tiny 110, which adds to the feeling that I have a small piece of history in having this knife. I also get Buck's forever warranty with this knife, which is an added bonus. I do want this knife to last a lifetime and to hand it down one day. It is well made, comfortable to hold for smaller hands, and is easier to carry in a woman's selection of pockets and such things without issue. I was on the fence, but I am very happy I made the purchase. It is my absolute favorite knife. You can see and feel the Buck quality that everyone has been talking about.
