Works well. Good to have if you have anything made of metal...
Rusty scissors? Scratches on your stainless steel sink? Nasty water spots not coming off? These are kind of a must IMO for anybody who prefers to fix things rather than replace them. I've saved several pairs of scissors and garden tools by sanding the rust off, then re-oiling. I've removed persistent water stains and even shallow scratches from our stainless steel kitchen sink. I've buffed scratches out of our pretty stainless steel kitchen garbage can. These are made with rubber impregnated with abrasives. They will wear down, but it appears the abrasive is fully impregnated through the rubber, and they wear down slow, so one set of these should last you a pretty long time. Each one is labeled and a different grade (level of coarseness). The most aggressive will cut through rust with some elbow grease. The least aggressive will buff (but not polish) stainless steel fairly well.

These are so cool
I love these blocks. They are like an eraser with grit in them. Just like the description says, they don’t clog or dull. They wear away like an eraser too, but not really fast. I’ve never tried them on wood. I use them to polish scratches out of aluminum. I haven’t used the coarser grits yet but the fine block works perfectly on brushed aluminum. You’ll never get a mirror shine, but it’s perfect for the brushed look. It is a slow process but with patience and hundreds of strokes you can restore something that’s lightly damaged back to new. Above are before and after shots of a threshold I polished with the fine block. It took about ten minutes. The circles around the screws are from the vacuum attachment on my roto-hammer rubbing concrete dust into the aluminum. They’re still faintly there in the after shots but I know they would’ve come out completely if I had a little more time. I’ve probably used the fine one I got at work for 2 hours of sanding time and it’s not worn away much. The corners are rounded a little and I cut one end at about ten degrees so it gets into corners. It’s the one in the picture. I got it from a guy at work and liked it so much that I bought three new sets and gave him a new fine one to replace his because I cut it and used it a bunch. They’re amazing. I can’t wait to try out the medium and coarse blocks.

Great rust removers!
Awesome product. Better value than other rust erasers I've seen, as you get nearly twice the size for the same or less money. All three blocks are very effective at removing the red rust that eats at metal. They can even work off black rust (often referred to as the patina, as black rust doesn't eat at the metal like red and even helps to protect it from red rust) to some degree for those looking for a more polished finish. The course block made rather quick work of cleaning decades of neglect off a machete. For knives and blades in better condition, medium or fine grit is all that's needed. Sandpaper works too. But when it comes down to it, the price is probably about the same between paper and these rubberized blocks (at least that's the case at the time this was written), where these rubber grit blocks are much easier to work with when cleaning metal, largely because they're easier to hold and don't tear like paper.

Metal yes; wood not so much.
They work well for cleaning metal tools, but tend to be messy. I would recommend choosing something else for wood.

Have used these for years. They do things sandpaper can't.
It says to use them like an eraser and that's what they feel like in use. I feel the rubber not the grit. They are for cleaning rather than metal removal. The fine block is a good substitute for crocus cloth if I have places that are hard to get at. They are not nearly as aggressive as silicon carbide paper on a block and they don't leave deep scratch marks either. Just stroke it over work. No use pushing hard because it doesn't change the cut. I think the grit pushes back into the rubber. They clean quickly and leave a nice finish, even the course one. The great thing about these is that if I have an irregular shape to clean I can just press the block to it and the block will wear to the shape. Easy. It does work that would be very difficult with sandpaper. I have cut pieces off a block with a utility knife for special little jobs. You won't regret buying these.

These things are magical
These sandflex blocks work unbelievably well. I was surprised just how well they removed rust and stains from metal of all kinds. I'll be purchasing more when they ware out, but it seems like that won't be for a good while. Highly recommended.
