Ho acquistato il WD Elements Hard Disk Esterno da 24TB e posso dire senza esitazioni che è uno dei migliori investimenti tecnologici che abbia mai fatto. La capacità è semplicemente mostruosa: perfetta per chi, come me, gestisce grandi quantità di dati tra video, foto, backup e file di lavoro. Finalmente ho tutto in un unico posto senza dover impazzire con più dispositivi. La velocità di trasferimento è eccellente, soprattutto collegandolo via USB 3.0: copia file pesanti in tempi davvero ridotti, senza rallentamenti o blocchi. Dal punto di vista della qualità costruttiva, WD si conferma una garanzia: il dispositivo è solido, silenzioso e non scalda eccessivamente nemmeno dopo lunghe sessioni di utilizzo. Altro punto forte è la semplicità d’uso: plug & play immediato, riconosciuto subito dal sistema senza bisogno di configurazioni complicate. Perfetto sia per uso professionale che personale, è ideale per chi cerca affidabilità, spazio e prestazioni elevate in un unico prodotto. 🔝 Pro: Capacità enorme (24TB reali!) Arrived and was in RAW format. Had to do a full format which lasted 37h, and when i did a diagnostic, it shows that there are 22 reallocated sector count (see the attached image). This is bad.

I run a two-NAS setup: my main NAS uses proper NAS-rated drives running 24/7, and a second NAS dedicated purely to backups that I schedule to wake up at night, pull a replication from the main NAS, and go back to sleep. For that kind of light-duty, scheduled-use backup role, this drive has been exactly right. I bought this alongside a WD My Book 24TB to compare, and once I checked both drives' SMART data, it turns out they're the same internal drive (WDC WD240EDGZ, 7200 RPM, helium, CMR) — just in a different plastic shell. The My Book cost me noticeably more for password protection and hardware encryption, features that are completely irrelevant once you're using the drive for NAS storage. This Elements drive gave me identical performance and health readings for a lower price. Arrived with 0 reallocated sectors, 0 pending/uncorrectable sectors, clean SMART health across the board. It's now happily running as part of a mirrored ZFS pool on my backup NAS with zero issues. If you're buying one of these specifically to put into a NAS (shucked or not), save your money and get this one instead of the My Book — you're paying for the same hardware either way.

Da ich mehr Platz brauchte, habe ich mir Anfang des Jahres zum Glück noch die 24TB-Version für 474 € gesichert. Ich vertraue WD schon lange und wurde auch diesmal nicht enttäuscht. + Schnelle Übertragungsraten + Erstaunlich leise im Betrieb - Spin-up (Anlaufzeit) dauert etwas länger als bei kleineren Festplatten
