I am obsessed with this product. My mom had a vintage European egg scissor that worked perfectly for years. I have tried all brands and styles. Fancy ones from Williams and Sonoma, the jagged round scissors from IKEA etc. all of them led to me still having to remove pieces of shell from my hard boiled eggs. This tool immaculately scalps your egg. It feels sturdy, looks nice on the counter and I am hopeful it’ll last because it doesn’t rely on a sharp blade that could get dull. Feels solid and sturdy in your hands and has a good weight. Also it works so well it stays very clean so I just wipe it with a damp paper towel and it’s perfect. The key is to hold it steady against the egg and drop the ball twice without moving the position. You will get a clean cut every time.

This thing is new to me, and I just love it! Cracks soft boiled eggs like a champ. Sometimes I have to drop it a few times, (depending on the egg) as expected. Perfect for the job!

Works great - need to drop the weighted ball 2-3 times. But you get the top off most time cleanly. Do it on the narrow side of the egg. I have the one with the spring as well - both works.

My wife usually consumes 4 soft-boiled eggs a day. The time savings the Original Clack Egg Opener provides has allowed her to increase to 6 soft-boiled eggs a day.

The Clack egg opener is a fun tool, though it works best with eggs that have a thinner shell. I came across it in Germany, and decided to buy one for myself. What I didn't realize was that the eggs used in my family's home had thinner shells than the farm bought eggs here in the US. So you need to drop the ball several times before the shell is cracked. Sadly, when it is, some of the rest of the shell also is impacted. But still, I enjoy using it.

Stupid excited to have one. Pricy imported German engineering & totally superfluous. BUT I love soft boiled eggs & collecting egg cups. This just is an added extra luxury. I’ll test it tomorrow

this one has a little metal ball you drop (or fling) down. We find this works better than the spring-loaded model we bought at the same time. Also this model's egg-contacting dome is straight walled at the bottom, it releases the egg cleanly; other models were slightly curved in, which made them grab the broken off dome -- a bad thing. Would buy again.

Hay versiones similares más económicas pero en este caso creo que no es conveniente jugársela -- al final la "campanita" de abajo está conectada al "mástil" por un mínimo punto de conexión -- si esa soldadura no es de calidad seguramente no dure mucho el "juguete". En este caso espero que siendo un producto respaldado (no digo fabricado) por una empresa alemana, tenga una durabilidad suficiente. En cualquier caso, el truco para que funcione bien es dejar caer la bola sin miramientos sobre el huevo, y mejor dos veces seguidas. De esta manera, si bien probablemente no quites solamente la cáscara, sí podrás levantar entera la tapa (incluida un poco de clara sólida) y te ahorras estar peleándote con el cuchillo y rompiéndo la cáscara de cualquier manera.

Not impressed with the efficiency of the item. It’s well made but doesn’t make a positive impression.

It is a conversation piece. It is beautiful and fun. I enjoy my morning eggs more now. Sometimes you have to drop the weight twice.
