The Paris Concert

"The Paris Concert" is a great 2CD live collection of tracks recorded in one take at a concert in Paris in 2007. The material covers all 4 of the band's studio albums up to that time along with several interesting covers including "Papa Was A Rolling Stone", and "Crosstown Traffic". The band are a rocking, funky, soulful freight train as some of these live versions soar over their studio originals. Of course they are all stellar musicians and get the chance to really stretch out their chops on some of these live versions. Vocalist Cory Glover is in fine form while Reid, Wimbish, and Calhoun tear it up instrumentally. I never understood why Living Colour seemed to fade away from popularity as quickly as they did. This attests to what a great live act they still are and how strong much of their material was.

This imho is one of the best concerts EVER!Living Colour is the epitome of prime musicians in prime form performing a stupendous show.If you are not familiar with this band this CD and DVD is the perfect intro to what rock music should be like.As I always say Living Colour For(4) Life!

Though there are some very good moments, I do not feel this represents Living Colour at their best. Lots of energy, but some of Vernon's solos are a bit too frenetic and these versions of some of the tunes are lacking in finesse.

Longtime L.C. fan been waiting for a live album it doesn't disappoint. ....to all L.C. fans i recommend u to check it out!
