What do we do to get these to smell like garlic?** A: Hi Steve, If it is warm on your porch I think that would help bring out the smell of the Garlic. **Q: I want to hang in my kitchen as decoration...how long will it last, will it fall apart and does it stink** A: I ordered the braid to use in cooking. It does not smell unless you are right next to it, and it lasted several months -- may have lasted longer, except I was using the bulbs over that time. Generally, even if the bulbs dry out and are uneatable, they maintain their appearance for a long time. Wanted to add -- you might want to use another product offered on Amazon for about the same price. There are artificial garlic braids that will last indefinitely and there's also no chance for offensive odor. I've had a couple braids before because I like to hang them on my kitchen wall and this is the best I've seen. The garlic has roots intact, so I know it was grown in the U.S.Approximately 2.5 lbs. of healthy garlic on a solid and attractive braid, grown in the U.S... The key is ordering the garlic as close to the time of harvesting as possible to ensure an excellent product. Not only that, but McFadden Farms included some samples of their dried herbs which I was not expecting. I thought that was a wonderful gesture on their part. I will order from them in the future, and if anyone out there uses a lot of garlic, this is a good purchase. So much of the garlic available in our grocery stores comes from China.
