look at the listing: It says 2 count for $14.99 then it says 6 for $69.99 is the "best value". How exactly is $11.67 per filter better that $7.50?

I don’t recommend purchasing this item. As I noted it was not in the appropriate packaging.

Do you need to keep this filter wet like previous filters?

Yes you have to have part of the filter wet with water all of the time in order for the filter to work properly, hope this helps you.
