Same goes for mounting it on your truck. If you want to run the cable along the surface of the roof, you're going to have to make your own mount. The reason is that the manufacturer did not put a slot in the bottom of their light, so the light cannot sit flush on any surface unless it has the cable going into a hole through the surface. Since the cable that goes into the bottom of the light is fixed, you have to live with the fact that you need to make the hole bigger than the cable, by a fair amount, to accommodate the plug end, which is easily three cable thickness in circumference. That's too bad, and cost a full star. Other lights I have worked with have a channel in the base, to run the cable out the side of the base plate, and they cost less too. Sure, this is a nice light, and the build quality is superior, but that flaw with the lack of cable channel reduces the utility of the light. Additionally, many will want to use a battery to power their lights, and if that's you, you're going to need to buy your own connectors or alligator clamps, because none are included in this kit. Another too bad, especially considering that this is one of the higher priced lights in this category on Amazon.
