I think it makes her feel secure. Got her used to it when she was young. She's over 15 lbs now and needed and XLarger. This looks adorable on her and when she's in the car with me, other drivers love it. Has always kept her in tow except once. Walked into the vet's office and there was a rottweiler there. Don't know how, but she was able to jump right out of it while it was still closed and she was at the door in a flash leaving me holding a lease with an empty vest, but she is extremely strong and fast.
