Tachikawa Comic Pen Nib Holder, Model 40 (T-40)

This is my first dip pen and I was a bit unsure about getting this one because I wasn't sure if I'd like the squishy foam part (I'm not a fan of those on pencils), BUT that's not really what it feels like at all. It's a thin layer over the wood, so it's not squishy, but provides a slightly softer, more comfortable place to hold than if it was just the wood. This nib holder also takes both sizes of nibs. I only have one kind so far - the Zebra G nib - but it holds it really well, while also making it super easy to take the nib out. I like that it comes with a cap, too, and the cap actually posts (chunks onto the back end), which I wasn't expecting! I don't know what else I could ask for with this, plus the price is low enough that I don't feel bad getting ink on it. Love it and highly recommend it, especially if you're just starting out with these, like me!

feels great in my hand and comfortably fits nibs from a random dip pen i was gifted a few years back. I sketched with it for a long period of time without my hands getting tired. would recommend.

Pen is comfortable enough. I bought this to have permanently on the Kakimori nib I bought. Fits perfectly. My one complaint is that I bought this primarily because of the top. It covers the nib well. However it didn’t stay on. The top/cover stays on the rear if you happen to park it there since the design allows for it. But on the front, which is where you want it to stay in order to protect any nib, the top cover won’t stay on. Possibly because of the rubberized grip. In any event, I’d recommend this pen. But don’t expect too much from the cover (with or without any nib installed).

A nice quality nib holder that will work with any of the comic-type nibs (Nikko), including the G-pen sized nibs as well as the smaller, round Maru mapping nib. The inside portion is a hard plastic that the nibs fit securely in without any wobble. The cap is enough of a reason to buy this nib holder; I don't know why more companies don't include caps, but it makes the pens easy to transport and much safer to store...protecting both the nib and your hand or fingers. If you're planning on using your pen on location somewhere to write or sketch, this is the one you want to get.

I learned calligraphy with a slanted point marker.... and then, got into brush lettering, but there is something far too special about a dip pen. I purchased an oblique holder and after it not working right after a week or so... I purchased this.... It was like magic. I know that folks love their oblique pen holders, but this thing is phenomenal to hold and work with. I want all of the colors as a want... but not a need. I love the way that it has a nib cover so that I can keep a nib in there for me to work with quickly. It's beautiful and quality. If your hand is comfortable, then your work will come out so gorgeous. I'm glad that I made this purchase. :) If you are considering this.... absolutely do it!

Great purchase. They fit my set of Speedball nibs perfectly.

Super comfortable nib holder. Just a little longer than the Model 36, putting your fingers a centimeter further from the tip of the nib. I prefer the 36 due to the smaller size and more forward position, but the 40 is also very good. The plastic cap is a very nice touch if you want to travel with the pen or keep the nib protected. My preference is for short holders so I prefer the Model 36, Model 25, or Nikko holders. Plastic receptacle works with most nib types.

es muy comoda de usar, y muy bonita. La tapita me sirve mucho para transportar la pluma con una puntilla, pues se ajusta firmemente y tambien se puede poner en la parte de atras mientras no se usa.

Excellent porte-plumes en bois, avec un joli design et une forme ergonomique bien pensée. Il est muni d’une poignée en silicone, qui est plus douce et moins dure que le bois, ce qui facilite ainsi les pages en écritures tout en évitant les doigts douloureux. Au niveau de la tête, son système de fixation en silicone, lui permet d’accepter toutes les plumes. De plus ce même système facilite grandement l’insertion et le retrait des plumes. Le capuchon qui est livré avec le porte plumes, est très utile pour protéger la plume montée. En résumé, c’est l’article indispensable pour exercer l’art de la calligraphie ou le dessin à l’encre de Chine.

I've had this since December 2018 but am finally getting more into dip pen calligraphy and I honestly can say I underestimated the benefits of having the grip. Get this nib holder, it's amazing. Super comfortable to hold and it fits most nibs. I use the zebra comic g! I just got an oblique holder as well but I still love this one more.

Ich habe verschiedene Federn von ganz kleinen Brause 66 Federn über Zebra G und Größere, alle passen gut und sitzen fest. Liegt sehr gut in der Hand, das gummierte Griffstück ist top. Durchmesser perfekt . Und das man bei eingesteckter Feder noch eine Kappe wie bei einem Füller hat macht diesen Halter für mich perfekt. Tolles Produkt. Volle Punktzahl. Würde ich sofort wieder kaufen.
