## Overview

The Toca DIDG-CG Curved Didgeridoo is a 50-inch synthetic instrument featuring a hand-painted gecko design. Lightweight and weatherproof, it offers the traditional curved shape and rich resonance of classic didgeridoos with modern durability. Tuned to the key of D, it’s beginner-friendly and highly praised for its superior sound quality and striking aesthetics, making it a top choice for outdoor musicians and collectors alike.

## Description

Toca curved synthetic Didgeridoos offer the traditional look, style and full sound of traditional bamboo construction, but with the durability and consistency that a synthetic didge provides. Hand painted, lightweight, and easy to play, these didgeridoos are impervious to weather and thus perfect for outdoor use. Great tone, volume and resonance combined with a striking authentic Aboriginal look make this Toca’s most popular didgeridoo. This is a high quality instrument that is easy for beginners to play right out of the box. The fundamental drone note is a D.

Review: Great Item for the Price - First off, I am not generally in the habit of writing reviews - BUT - I was so impressed with this item that I simply couldn't pass this by without saying something! Anyone that writes a poor review on this didgeridoo based solely on the materials it's made from is just a jerk. This instrument, in spite of the materials it is made of, is clearly crafted by people who care about the work they do - and if there is one thing that I appreciate the most, it's craftsmanship. Shaped into aesthetic curves then painted to give the appearance of a cherry wood stain before adding the native decorations, this instrument looks pretty darn good for the price. If you saw it without actually picking it up, you might even think that it was authentic wood. As far as the quality of sound goes, it sounds just fine to my ears and I can't wait to practice more. In summary, this is a great item and I would recommend it to anyone that doesn't want to pay a whole lot for a more traditional piece. PS - I'm going to get some bee's wax for the mouth piece as suggested by others here as well. My concern being that the moisture build-up from playing this instrument might mess up the paint finish.
Review: Toca makes GREAT Didgeridoos !!! - This $35. didgeridoo is tied for my FAVORITE didgeridoo of the FIVE that I have collected thus far. The other four cost me: $530, $410, $130, and $40. I often think of this wonderful sounding $35 didgeridoo as possibly the deal of the century. I also own the DIDG-CTS Curved didgeridoo which is IDENTICAL to the DIDG-CG except for the color (red/brown mahogany color for the DIDG-CTS Versus black for the DIDG-CG) and the painted decoration. They are in the key of D#. I find that these have a SUPERIOR SOUND compared to the other synthetic didgeridoos that I have collected (such as the Meinl Synthetic). This may be due to the Toca's lengthwise curvature and the cross-sectional flare on the final one third of the bell end. I HIGHLY recommend these two Toca Curved didges. If you get one, you will need to abrade the inside of the didge close to the mouthpiece end to remove paint bubbles/chips. I used steel wool to do this. ALSO: I found that I could make the PVC mouthpiece more comfortable by building it up with BEESWAX (the same way that Australian aborigines form their mouthpieces). For people who do not know how this is done: just buy a wad of beeswax and let it sit in a glass of hot water for at least 5 minutes. Then pull off parts of the wad and roll them into the form of thick spaghetti. Then you can wrap this around a hard pvc or wooden mouthpiece into the shape that works best for you. As the beeswax cools, it hardens.
