I love theses racks! Installation to OEM Honda CR-V crossbars is simple, easy and very secure. I transport one Pelican Mustang 100X and one Field and Stream Eagle Run 12. Both kayaks sit perfectly in the cradles and the front loading ramps really do make it easier to to get the boats loaded. This package comes with everything you need to safely get your boats wherever you are going. The straps work great once you figure out how to route them properly and the bow and stern lines attach and tighten securely in seconds! I can load and secure both kayaks in 10-15 minutes or so. The fact that I can load up and go so quickly means I will use my kayaks a lot more and not dread loading them! The fold down feature is also great!! They sit low enough when folded down to easily fit into a garage or other low clearance area. The folding mechanism is easy to lock and unlock and feels very heavy duty and secure. I’ve only been using them for a couple months so time will tell about the durability. However, I have little doubt that these will last a long time. There are certainly cheaper racks out there that will work but the peace of mind knowing my boats are safe and secure going down the road makes these racks worth every penny!

These racks are well-designed and well-made in the USA. Installation is a breeze, and they are solid and good-looking once in place. I've owned Thule and Yakima for skis, bikes, and boats, and I no longer see a need to go anywhere else for any rack similar to those made by Malone. Additionally, their customer service team is responsive, helpful, and friendly.

This was a great value, sturdy racks for our kayaks! Super easy to install and remove.

I want to give this product 5 stars. We don't use our kayaks often enough to leave the downloader on permanently. These are visually appealing and could totally be left on for longer periods of time. However, while trying to fasten them to the car rack the thread on these little guys (circled on the picture) are difficult to get started. The rest of the system is absolutely seamless and fast. So If I could give this 4.75 stars I would. I would buy it again.

Does a great job. Easy to use. I have had it on my vehicle since May and use it a few times a week. I have taken my two kayaks on several trips of over 350 miles and never have a concern. It takes the abuse... The name is in red on the pads and has faded a lot already. The straps are just okay as far as holding up well goes. Starting to fay a bit, but those can be replaced easily. It is a good system and if you want to save hundreds then you have made a wise choice.

I made the mistake of waiting until today July 13th, 2024, (purchased June 6th, 2024) to put the malone jhooks on my suv to go for my first paddle together with my fiancee.I have a pelican catch 130 hydryve and a 110 hydryve. I recently purchased the 110 for my fiancee to go out with me. The Malones may work for slimmer walled, and more narrow(Pelicans are 34 inches wide)kayaks. These are heavy unwieldly kayaks, and I was hoping to use the Telos XL lifts(another expense) with the Malone racks, to make it a little more easy. I was able to get the kayak to the top of my suv (2014 Hyundai santa fe sport), but getting them into the j hooks is very difficult. I'm an in shape male who can lift a kayak, so trust me when I say...difficult. After getting the kayak into the jhooks, you can see that it's too thick to securely sit 'down' in the foot of the hook. Even when strapped in, I would not trust the position of the kayak on the road. Malone, make the foot of your jhooks wider for newer, larger, wider kayaks! I can't even get my money back for the jhooks or the Telos lift...even though they were only tried today. I was told by a Malone rep that they would fit before I bought them. I told him what kayaks that I was mounting, and he assured me that they would fit….they don't…safely.

These are my first set of J hooks. They are easy to install and the ramps made it easier for me to load my kayak by myself. So far, I really like them. I did have an issue with one of the Js; it wouldn’t quite disengage at first; it eventually did after some finagling. So I contacted costumer service and they immediately emailed me back, and I do mean immediately. All I had to do was email them proof of purchase and explain what was going on and they sent a replacement. Great customer service!!

This rack is great. Everything seems very well thought out. Lifetime warranty. Malone will soon be as common as Yakima and Thule. Speaking of I tried a couple other racks and they did not meet my needs. After doing tons of research and reading reviews/examining photos, I decided to give it a try. Definitely not disappointed. My boats are not heavy. Just long/wide/ackward to handle by yourself. Especially when throwing them in the roof. The loading ramp section actually works. I can set the boat in the end of my bars and just give it a solid shove, and it sliks right into the cradles. Tested at 80mph with some quick jerking and no noticable movement. Also stable on some "two tracks" we encountered. Highly recommend. Especially with the free speedline now/stern upgrade. As well as the 15' straps. (I believe it normally comes with 12'?) 100% would purchase again.
