## Overview

TotalBoat Lust Marine Varnish is a cutting-edge, one-part polyurethane varnish enhanced with linseed oil for superior flow and flexibility. Designed for both indoor and outdoor wood surfaces, it delivers a rich amber tone with UV and water resistance. Its quick-dry formula allows multiple coats per day without sanding, making it ideal for professionals and enthusiasts seeking durable, high-gloss or matte finishes on marine and domestic wood projects.

## Description

Lust is the first one part marine spar varnish that allows you to finish any varnish job faster because you can apply multiple coats in one day, without sanding between coats. It cures to a warm, rich, and clear amber shade with a high gloss or matte finish that looks spectacular on all types of marine and household wood including glossy teak works, finger rails, railings, doors, cabinets, outdoor patio furniture, bar counters, tables, and more. This marine varnish is truly an exciting innovation because you can repaint Lust in as little as 1 hour at 72 degrees F, applying up to 5 coats in a day. You can't do it with traditional marine varnishes that require tedious sanding between coats, and that have a thin film construction that requires 10 or more coats. There are also marine wood finishes that mimic the look of varnish, but do not replace the real thing. TotalBoat Lust has a polyurethane formula modified with linseed oil for a smooth flow, and is easy to apply by brushing, rolling, or spraying. Its unique formula also makes Lust flexible when cured, similar to tung oil varnishes. Flexibility is very important in outdoor applications because wood tends to contract and expand with seasonal changes in outdoor temperature and humidity. And compared to exterior polyurethane, Lust has stronger UV properties that make it a perfect choice for brilliant boat work, teak, household ornaments, exterior doors, wood sculpture and artwork, and more. Available in a gloss varnish or matte varnish finish. Compare to Epifanes Clear Varnish, Matte Wood Finish, Wood Finish, Pettit Flagship Varnish, Z Spar Captain's Barnish, Minwax Helmsman Spar Urethano, Varathane Varnish, Rust-Oleum Marine Spar Spar Varnish, Marine System Three Clear Marine Spar Urethane Varnish and Old Masters Marine Varnish. All TotalBoat products provide great value and excellent results. 100% Made in the USA.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is the matte finish truly matte or does it have some degree of sheen?**
A: Good Afternoon, this is a true matte finish, you do need to stir thoroughly to mix the flattening agent. Thank you.

**Q: Can I use mineral spirits to thin for brush application instead of xylene? I read that it's thick and I have mineral spirits on hand.**
A: I used mineral spirits with no problem, dry time was slightly longer but no noticeable issues in my opinion (I am not a professional or the producer)

**Q: Has anyone used this on exterior log posts on a log home? Will it peel off later?**
A: I have used this product on a wood cabinet on a boat. I placed 8 coats of this varnish on the cabinet. The varnish is holding up very well. It is not peeling during the last 3 months.

**Q: How well would it cover dry oil paint?**
A: I don't know. I think the condition of the paint would matter. Smooth, rough, cracked, peeling. I would contact the manufacturer customer service. I had some questions when doing my project and found them very helpful. I put the varnish on over their marine epoxy, which was over oil paint and had no trouble with it. Again, their customer service is a better source of info.
