Anyone know the bottom size?** A: just measured mine at just a bit greater than 7.5 inches (7 5/8?). fits 8" burner perfectly. **Q: Is it tri-ply or 5 ply?** A: I believe it is 3 plys.. But the company web site can say for sure. In any event, the Fissler product is more about the large aluminum core base than the number of plys. I have this pot and a stock pot... The stock pot is great for soups and stews... Much better heating... Less burning on the bottom.. Holds a lot of heat in the core.. I would say that core is the selling point for Fissler, not the number of plys. **Q: Why hide made in china ?** A: My Fissler sauce pan was made in Germany.
