I set-up the machine on stacked crates so that the machine is at shoulder height thus replicating a very inexpensive indoor pitching machine. If you buy good balls they will be delivered consistently in the strike zone. Lol! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ My dogs love it!! *by A***E on December 4, 2014* First of all, I have to admit that I purchased this for my dogs because I am lazy and get tired throwing the tennis ball with them. It works great and pitches the ball a decent distance. It isn't the most reliable as far as sending the ball the same distance and angle every time but this is not a problem for me since I am not using it for its intended purpose. The included plastic baseballs were destroyed within a day so I had to find replacements. Hint- regular baseballs, tennis balls and racquetballs do not work. I reluctantly purchased the Jugs lite-flite baseballs (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001CF3KTA/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_8) and am glad I did. They work great with the machine and although they do not reach the same distance as the plastic hollow balls, it is very close! These are still going strong and my dog hasn't (yet) found a way to destroy them. They may be costly, but they work well with this machine. I would give this 5 stars is Franklin made alternate, more durable baseballs.
