I tested the three current ranges using known trickle currents and the meter is very accurate. It is set up much like any VOM. I did have trouble with the red lead giving intermittent open circuit! I used other cords and proved that it was the cord and not the meter. They offered to send new cords, but i have so many in the lab they did not need to. I used a small flat screwdriver to open the male prong of the cable and it now works just fine. Their response was very rapid and helpful. The apparatus works perfectly. Some comment about the battery cover: When the screws are out, simply turn the VOM over and the cover falls out. Review: Great meter for the money but needs a few finishing touches. - First off they need to have an obvious website to download the software from. (I have the USB connected version). People don't always have CD drives these days so the included CD is probably a waste of time and the companies money. Also the software connection via usb com port could be a bit more helpful. It requires fishing around for which com port to pick, then my Windows 7 automatically set baud correct but my Windows 10 computer did not. 2400,N,8,1 is the correct com settings and that has to be changed in Windows Control Panel if not correct. A minor detail is the Save Excel format gives a warning when reading in actual Excel but you can ignore that warning. Overall I love the software as it is simple and effective, fastest sample rate is 2/second. To answer others questions I have run the pictured set up for 32 minutes without the auto-power off shutting it down! Non-standard USBA to USBA, not Windows 11 compatible, software not available online *by J***. on August 8, 2024* Bought this exclusively for datalogging. I did not use it at all after opening the box and returned it right away. USB port is not standard: includes a USB-A to USB-A (even more rare than the USBA to B of the printers and scanners of yesteryear). Software link did not work. Software CD was cracked, but magically got the software out. Not compatible with Windows 11.
