Better than the inexpensive price would suggest
For the price this is hard to beat. Well balanced, easily to grip and advertised as full tang. The handle is tightly spun paracord and does a good job, katana style blade in black (in my selection) has a nice look to it. Balances about an inch into the handle. The sheath is the standard nylon you’d expect at this price point, nothing special but does a job. I have a couple of minor gripes though I simply can’t dock a star because of the price for such a comparatively nice specimen: The sheath has no lock or clasp to keep the blade in place and ideally I’d like one (and might even add one) for safety. Much depends on the type of use and whether you will use the belt loop or pack in a tackle box. The knife does fit reasonably tightly as you plunge it further into the sheath but I wouldn’t guarantee that this feature doesn’t loosen after multiple uses so I will keep an eye on that aspect although I likely won’t belt carry it. Also the guard is minimal between handle and blade which is a potential safety issue, again depending on use. The paracord certainly gives a good grip to mitigate the issue but if this was stabbed with significant force, I’d worry about injury if someone didn’t compensate. The knife wasn’t super sharp out of the box but it has heft and certainly cut into the cardboard packaging well enough when I hacked with it. It sharpened up easily on my stone which made a big difference readying it for my fishing trip. I feel like I haven’t sung the praises of this knife enough but it keeps its 5 stars because you really do get a decent looking (and feeling) knife for so very little outlay. Just know its limitations (if any) for your own particular use, use safety and enjoy! I hope you found this information helpful 👇

Great, inexpensive tanto knife!
I love knives. Ever since I was a kid I was always amazed at how much use I had for one. I had my first pocket knife when I was very young, a classic Swiss Army Knife, and it went everywhere with me. I've expanded my collection over the years, and while I don't have a ton of knives the ones I get see use. I was looking for an inexpensive knife for camping, something that I could put to work without worrying too much if it breaks, so when I saw this one I decided to give it a shot. It arrived in a nice box that contains the knife and a sheath. It all arrived in near-mint condition. This is a solid knife! It's much thicker than I pictured, which is excellent as I wanted a knife I could use to split wood. Not that you can swing this like an axe, but with the thick spine you can place the blade against the wood to split and hammer the spine with a rock or big stick. It's a tanto blade, which gives a lot of strength for punching through material. It also leaves you with a straight cutting surface which works better for some tasks. The fit and finish are nice. I don't care for the gold at the pommel, but it's not enough to bother me. The grip is wrapped with something similar to paracord, and provides a good amount of grip. Looking over the knife I don't see any burrs or sharp edges, everything is very smooth. My only complaint, and it's pretty minor, is that there isn't a lock of any kind in the sheath, not even a friction lock like with kydex sheaths. However, it's very deep, so as long as I'm not doing a handstand it shouldn't fall out. Even if I take a fall I don't think it would fall. Overall this is a great knife for the cost. It's big enough to do some work without dragging down your pants. I'm looking forward to getting out in the woods to give it a real test.

Needs sharpening, unique look
Pretty solid and well made knife. It needed some sharpening when I got it, but after a few passes it cuts nicely. It's held it's edge so far, but I don't really use it for much other than show. The paracord is well wrapped, and you never know when you might need it. When sheathed and carried it has a different look than a regular pocket knife that will draw some eyes. The sheath is pretty basic and has held up for now, but it's kind of cheap so I'll look to replace it with something better down the road. Overall, it's not a high end show piece knife, but with a bit of work it is a functional blade that will get some looks.

I’m surprised and impressed - good quality at a good price point
It’s not often that I get surprised with the quality of an item, but this knife definitely surprised me. For the price point, I am happily surprised that the balance, finish, blade, and features of this knife are all pretty darn good! The finish on the blade is a nice matte black, which I really like a lot. The cord wrapped handle is well-made and seems to be firmly in place, and it feels nice in the hand. The knife itself is well balanced, and while I have not taken it apart, it definitely feels like it is full tank. The handle feels solidly attached, and there is no disconnect between the handle and the blade, no wobble, no bending, it just feels like the blade itself is firmly attached to your hand. The sheath is a simple, nylon sheath that you might find with an inexpensive fishing knife, but it works well for this knife. It feels pretty firm so you could actually hang that sheath off your belt and have it be functional. I don’t love the fact that there’s no retention on the sheath, but again, what am I expecting at this price point?. It shows up sharp, sharp enough to slice paper, but I figured I would give it a quick run on my sharpening stone just to see if I can get it a little bit sharper. It took an edge very easily, and very well. My rough estimation is that I got it about 10% sharper, Right up there with the sharpness of my high-quality blades. I used it in the garage on a few things and then ran it back-and-forth over a 2 x 4 just to dull the blade a little bit and it really stayed pretty sharp for a while. It eventually got a little taller than when it arrived, but was easy to sharpen again. Another 90 seconds on a double side of stone, and this blade was back in the game. If you’re looking for a nice, budget-friendly tanto, this is a great option!
