Excellent Camera
First off, the for factor/size is second to none. Mounted right along the left side of the rear view mirror it’s unnoticeable. Installation is so easy and love its magnetic quick disconnect base for taking the camera inside for cleaning and updating as well as removing before going to the dealer (many dealers won’t work on a vehicle with a camera) Video quality is excellent day and night. It included circular polarizing filter makes the dash reflection disappear from the video. Something most cameras don’t offer. Control via cell phone is very simple as well as system software upgrades and video review. It’s nice having the 1” display for menu option changes in the car. Great deal on this on Prime day. It’s coming up soon and I’ll be buying another for another vehicle or for a rear camera. Can’t go wrong for $100. *Note- Just as everyone reports, it runs really hot and did burn up the first mem card I bought in about 4 months. Replaced it with an extra high temp/rough duty card. Good so far past 4 months.

manufacturing defect - updates
I have used it for about 2.5 months so far. Then all of sudden, the back dash cam cover feel apart. I found it on the floor of my car and tried to put back, but it didn't work. It should cover the back screen and other internal part of the dash cam. It is gone now and dash cam barely works, but not sure how long it can stay like that. I tried to contact the manufacturer, but no response so far. very disappointed. Updates: As soon as I contacted Vantrue, they replied and are in progress to figure things out for me. So I revised my review. Once I hear from Vantrue for the resolution, I will update again. By the way, I like the size and functions of this dash cam and customer service is there to help, I ordered another one for my other car. I will see how this new unit works for me soon. Updates 2: Well... the second unit came in and installed another car. A few days later, I found the back screen was broken again. I found this unit made a lot of heat when it was in use. It was almost untouchable, due to the enormous heat. I think the back screen was broken by the heat. Anyway, second unit will be returned to Amazon. The first one is still in progress of replacing by the manufacturer, but the whole process has been very slow. I don't think I can recommend it anymore, even though I liked the size and video quality.

Great Quality and Ease of Use
Great quality and ease to use. Love the fact that it is small and gives me that "Out of The Way" look. I had the original version, so upgrading to this one was an easy choice. Glad I did because I have even better video quality and more features. This is definitely worth the purchase.

Super easy install.
Great size and easy installation. The video quality is good and has many features. The menu is a bit difficult to navigate and some settings are not where you would expect them. The window mount has the power connection so you don’t have to remove the cord when you take it off your windshield. The power cord is plenty long making it easy to route around the dash and windshield. The only thing you need to supply is the micro sd card!

This is a great dash camera
This is the third one of these that I have purchased. There are two real parts of the install. One is mounting the camera to the windshield, and the second is running the wiring for power to the camera. The camera is really in two parts. The main camera which is a small cube, and an adapter that sticks to the windshield and holds the camera in place. In the box you get a clear sheet that looks like a screen protector that you are supposed to stick to the windshield and you stick the camera to that. After trying this once, either I didn't do it right or it didn't work right. The camera fell off. So I now leave that stuff in the box and stick the mount directly to the glass. (Be sure to clean the glass first). This works well. You do need as Micro-SD card to capture the images. The app needs to be downloaded to see the clips captured but you can also remove the Micro-SD and look at them on a computer or whatever. Unless you just plug in the cable to the camera and drape the wire down to the power port in your car, wiring is more of a problem than sticking the camera to the windshield. The cable with the camera is a usb-c on the camera end and what was called the cigarette lighter plug in the other end. If your car only has USB A or C connectors, you will need to purchase a separate cable. A small tool is provided to lift up trim parts on the car to slide the cable underneath to make it look nice. On some cars (Like my Jeep Wrangler) this is very easy to do. The others were installed on Kia and Hyundai cars which seem to be be build much tighter fits, and were a real pain. The level of difficulty will depend on your car and how hidden you want the cable to be. The camera works well and has an excellent picture quality. If you don't want it recording your conversations in the car, you can mute the microphone. It records in a loop, so older clips get erased when the memory card is full. You should also format the card on a regular basis. How much video you can keep depends on the size of the card you purchase. The only other comment I have is that it does get hot.

Just finished the install
Installation was easy, most difficult part is running the wire from the camera to the outlet. This device uses a cigarette lighter style connector with only about 8' of cord (There is no USB cord and there may not be enough power from your vehicle's USB outlet anyway). Running the power cord is the most challenging install regardless of the camera you purchase. Here is something to keep in mind with the Vantrue, there are adapters that allow you to power this camera by using the rear view mirror (and the adapters are relatively cheap). Amazon lists the available adapters that will work with certain vehicles. Anyway, I did my install before realizing these are available, and they will only work with mirrors that have power (auto dimming). The screen is very small, by design but the VanTrue app allows you to see what the camera sees on your phone, plus you can fully program the device using the app and its built-in wifi. You have several options for video quality but 4K provides a really good quality picture. Just remember, the better the resolution, the more space it requires on your SD card.. The previous dash cam we had included a rear camera which was nice but required additional wiring the full length of the vehicle. If we miss the rear camera, I'm just going to purchase another E1 Pro and power it from the cigarette lighter outlet in the rear of our vehicle. These dash cams have gone up in price but they are still one of the best featured dash cams you can buy.

Good camera but installation is tricky, runs hot.
I'm not practiced at installing dash cameras but I am technical. The camera came with a polarizing filter with clear protective film front and back. The camera lens came with a clear protective film. The camera images were poor until all the films were removed! Nothing in the instructions said anything about the films. Image quality is good without the protective films but it took a couple of tries before I found them all. There are no instructions on setting the rotation angle of the polarizer. There lots of options on setting up the camera. They are very small icons on the very small screen. You may need reading glasses! The manual also is printed with tiny print and diagrams. A plus is that the camera removes easily from the car through a magnetic connector. Plug it into power and remove it from the windshield to do the setup otherwise the view can be obscured by the rear view mirror even if it's twisted to give clearance. Again, nothing is said in the manual about this problem. It is a small camera but the mounted height is enough to make it hard to hide completely behind a Volkswagen rear view mirror. It seems to be running warm for an electronic device. We will see if it survives the Summer in the Pacific Northwest.

Not user friendly
Got this camera last summer before a trip. Love the size and had high hopes. It’s my fault that I didn’t read the instructions thoroughly or do much more than format the SD card and set up video settings before leaving. I downloaded the app and connected and thought all was good. We had a close call and I pushed the lock video button but when we stopped there wasn’t a video in the save folder. We were on a long trip and I got aggravated with this thing because I couldn’t get a video to save (it was too late to return). When we got back I read the I instructions and found out that the camera was on but not recording. Fast forward 6 months later and it hit me that I had made sure that it was recording on start up but never tested it. I made sure that it was recording and pushed the button to record a fake event and nothing in the saved files. The only thing that it kept was the last 9 minutes of the drive so if something happens you better pull out your phone and get the video then. I have yet to be able to capture an event that I wanted to. I don’t recommend.

Perfect Dash Cam for Daily Driving
I’ve been using this Vantrue E1 Pro for my daily driving and I’m very happy with it. The video quality is excellent, especially during both daytime and nighttime. The compact size fits perfectly behind my rearview mirror and doesn’t block my view at all. Installation was simple, and the WiFi connection makes it easy to download and review footage on my phone. The HDR feature helps capture clear details, including license plates. Overall, this dash cam offers great performance, reliability, and value for the price. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality dash cam.

Great value
I came from the E1 Lite and went from being unable to read a licence plate of a stationary car as I drove past to being able to read anyone's on the road. Almost the same product except higher quality camera and features. Physically identical, very compact.

Calidad a un precio moderado. Extremadamente recomendable.

Excellent little dash-cam.
Well-made and surprisingly small. Easy to fit and unobtrusive. Unusually, it comes complete with a polarising filter to remove any screen reflections (just twist the filter once fitted until they disappear). Very reasonably priced for a 4k camera with the latest Sony Starvis 2 sensor which produces good, clear video day and night. A one-star review here claims that you can’t power it from a USB C socket but that hasn’t been my experience - it works perfectly for me. The screen is small but usable although it’s easier to set it up initially through the phone app. The only minor issue that I had with it was that if you use the GPS time signal for the internal clock, the daylight saving setting uses the US dates to automatically change in the spring and autumn which are different from the dates we use in the UK. That said, it’s easy enough to set the time manually so not so much a problem as an inconvenience. It does run very warm but no more than my previous dash-cam which lasted several years with any problems.
