Young children can become the train driver with the Push & Go motor — a gentle push either forwards or backwards sends the train toy on its way and a firm hold or lift off the tracks will make it stop. Help kids place the 5 colored action bricks along the track to sound the horn, turn the lights on and off, pause and refuel, change direction and stop the train wherever they like. With a harbor, crane boat toy, café, loading station, 2 cranes, 3 DUPLO figures plus an animal figure and lots of cool LEGO train tracks included in this LEGO DUPLO set, preschoolers can enjoy classic, fun train play. Download the optional app to unlock even more play possibilities, including remote-control function and fun activities to complete with your toddler! How long does this train move on its own w/ the “push & go” effect** A: Hi there! Great question. With the DUPLO® 10508 Deluxe Train Set, builders could hit a button, and the train would stay on until it's turned off or the batteries run out. With this DUPLO train, the Push & Go mechanism is similar to the button - the train will go until it's pushed to stop, or the batteries run out. The biggest difference between the sets is that this one has some new added technology. The train engine includes a color sensor that will read action bricks placed on the tracks. Depending on the action brick used, the train may stop, change direction, make noise, etc. This train also has an optional mobile app for added functionality. Pair up your train to play games, make additional sounds, and control your train's movement. Happy building, Emily LEGO® Service **Q: Is this set compatible with all the previous Lego Duplo train sets?** A: Hi there! This will be compatible with all DUPLO® trains that come with track. (We do have some DUPLO sets that look very train-like, such as 10863 My First Animal Brick Box, which have wider wheels which won't go on every track piece.) The action bricks that come with this set won't be compatible with older trains since they don't have sensors. Kind regards, Emily LEGO® Service **Q: So are the batteries aaa or aa and how many?** A: Hi there, thanks for your question! This LEGO® DUPLO® Train uses 4 AAA batteries. 🚂 -Keith, LEGO® Customer Service **Q: Is there enough track to make a circle or just the jagged layout shown in the image?** A: Thanks for your question. The tracks included with this DUPLO® Cargo Train can be formed into a complete circle. For specific directions about the tracks, please head over to LEGO.com/Service and download the building instructions. The track layout can be found on page 9.
