Worth it
Love this ice maker!! We go through a lot of ice in a day and this little guy keeps up with no problems! We do clean it and replace the filter on a regular basis. Perfect counter top size, ice is crunchy and lasts well in an insulated cup. And minimal noise!

Mold (and health) issue!
Revising my review. I've been dealing with horrible headaches, head/ear pressure, and a sore throat. Had no idea what was causing this because it would usually just randomly occur later on in the day. Thought nothing of it besides maybe a cold until I noticed a weird taste in my iced water. This led to me checking the machine and finding MOLD in the pipes, the ice tray, and the water reservoir. And I know what you're going to say "she must not be cleaning that thing often enough or properly." WRONG. Every single time the "cleaning" light would turn on, I would follow the instructions to clean the machine. I was diligent about cleaning the machine and wiping everything down. I found white mold in the piping and it did NOT clean out when I ran a clean cycle which leads me to believe that there's probably a lot more internally that I cannot see. The ice tray and the water reservoir had black mold. When I wiped down the sides of the machine (water reservoir and ice tray) the paper towels came away black. Once I stopped using this ice, my symptoms started to clear up. I was poisoning myself with moldy ice ever since time I would drink. This machine was great when it was brand new but the health risks are not worth it. I'm throwing this out. and my dad who also owns one is throwing his out as well. Use this at your own risk. Old review: The reviews are concerning but my dad and I both have this same ice maker and neither of us have had any issues so far. He has had his for a year or two now and I've only had mine for around a month. Easy to use, and everyone that comes over always talks about how much they love this ice. I love that this has a little night light on it too. I like to turn that on when the sun sets. No complaints with this.

Great equipment, but 2 years is not long enough for the price
I purchased this GE 2.0 XL . over 2 years ago and now found a loud noise coming from the auger. This has been my favorite appliance for over two years. I followed every time to clean the equipment with white vinegar and tried the defrosting method overnight. If some one could help with repairing the issue I would appreciate it

The instructions need step-by-step, along with pictures for each and every step more detailed
This icemaker is the queen of all queens. It’s huge, the instructions could be written with a little bit more, about the actual set up of the machine itself,, also instead of starting off on how to clean the machine, how to operate and what steps to take one at a time, writing comprehension, just saying we’re not my best subjects, and also taken into consideration being women, who went from been married iand anything with instructions my other half done everything for as long as I left home at 16 years old, going on 50!! These instructions, severely need attention,, from going t from having a man in your life, who did it all for you, two being able, to read and see each steps that being said Step1. with a detail1 as well as a clear picture showing on each step have step-by-step , but I guess they wanted you to look at the pictures and just know what you’re doing. I finally after many hours doubting myself and doughting everything around me as well as the floor and myself cause I did not hook up the hose in the back I guess the second guess myself on which one of those tubes goes where I make the wrong mistake , the directions didn’t say which hose came off and attached to the pump on the side of the icemaker where my house of water pump I undothe accidentally connect the wrong hose to the pump, causing all the water in the holding tank, ran out like crazy. Call it a pretty lucky guess after two wasted full gallons of distilled water everywhere!!The first icemakerI bought lasted about a year and a half totwo years. my next purchase was an another one an another one on Amazon, purchased it December 30 and went out within a two week timeframe. So I’m going to see my daughter in Missouri and she’s been telling me to get the GE profile. Opal, I told her she was out of her bougie mind…. after the second one broke, I was mad as hell. She paid $699 for her, but when I got on there and looked way more than what I wanted to spend, I decided to just do the purchase and get it over with, came in the mail today, our yesterday,, I was blown away.It was the best purchase I made. I love the little nugget ice, this icemaker is my prize possession, I’m going to religiously like clockwork, my opal blue. The ice queen is going to be maintenance as often as asked, i’m on a fixed income, so I am going out on Liam, and I hope to goodness I hope she treats me, stress, free, and finances free from any and all problems she Keeps the general Electric, maintenance free, and always holds up to the General Electric name and craftsmanship.. i’ll come back in about six months and give an update!! you can definitely tell by looking at this machine that you are getting nothing but the best it’s heavy duty made to last, and last not least meant to be in my kitchen.!.!.! I’ve seen too many companies operate like this lately, and GE seems to be following the same playbook. I ironically bought this from Amazon — and this ice maker isn’t cheap. On the outside it looks sleek, but inside it’s completely rotten: false warnings, random stops and starts, terrifying squeals, and general unreliability. Customer service was a complete disaster. I was just a month past the one-year warranty, and the representative refused to help, offered no solutions, and eventually hung up. No accountability, no concern — just cold corporate scripts protecting GE’s profits. This appliance is all style and no substance. Expensive, flashy, and fundamentally broken. If you value your time, or money, do not buy this. GE clearly cares more about profit than quality or customer experience. Amazon too? They haven't weighed in!

WHEN THE ICE MAKER WORKS IT WAS GREAT. SUPER DISAPPOINTING THAT IT ONLY WORKED FOR ABOUT A MONTH AFTER PURCHASE. CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE. THEY EXPECT YOU TO KEEP A HUGE BOX LYING AROUND THE HOUSE FOR AN INDEFINATE PERIOD OF TIME SO THAT YOU CAN SEND IT BACK TO THEM IN ITS ORIGINAL PACKAGING SO THEY WILL HONOUR THE WARRANTY. I AM ON THE HOOK FOR 'DAMAGES' THAT MIGHT HAPPEN WHEN I AM MAILING IT BACK TO THEM TO FIX IT. IT WEIGHS ALMOST 50 POUNDS. I CAN NOT FIND ANY LOCAL PLACE TO WARRANTY IT. NO ONE FIXES SMALL APPLIANCES ANY MORE. IT IS VERY NICE LOOKING, BUT WHAT THEY ARE DOING ON THE INSIDE OF IT, IT IS SUPER UNRELIABLE. THEY ALSO SHIPPED ME A DIFFERENT PRODUCT THAN THEY DELIVERED TO ME. THE INVOICE DOESN'T MATCH THE PRODUCT. I AM TRYING TO GET THAT FIXED BEFORE I SEND THEM ANYTHING. BRUTAL CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT PURCHASE
