Creative Form Drawing with Children ages 6-10: Workbook 1 (Steiner / Waldorf Education)

This book is so helpful and has been written in a way that anyone with a Waldorf background can follow and understand. I love the colors and thoughtful notes for each form.

I bought this to add a creative outlet to my son’s homeschool day. I’m very literal/analytical, so I was looking for something to push my own limits and also add some easy/intriguing/fun art to his activities. The activities are super straight forward and looking through it, it looks VERY simple. I was almost annoyed that I payed so much for it, because it’s just lines… but it’s not just lines, it’s the ideas that matter. The concepts actually make a lot of sense. It’s easy to forget where you started with something. At one point drawing lines and curves was brand new. Funny because my mom is an artist and an elementary art teacher, super creative, but I told her since I can’t have her in my pocket at all times I had to buy this book 🤣

This has been a really wonderful tool for warming up the hands and mind for cursive writing! Our kiddo is Montessori educated and only has learned cursive, but still struggles a bit with it. We use the Lyra pencils, which also seem to help him v. a regular #2 pencil. Also, we do it sided by side so he feels like it’s doing art together v. learning writing. It’s great for learning scale and spacing and utilizing the words they recommend for the lessons. The teaching element at the beginning and throughout the book is very detailed and easy to follow...anybody who has a little patience and willingness to help a child learn can do this!

Such a beautiful book. We are homeschoolers and although we don't follow a Waldorf curriculum I am inspired by many Waldorf principles. My seven year old LOVES form drawing, and I have to admit that I do too! We enjoy this time together so much. The book is an excellent guide and is just gorgeous to look at. The paper quality and the brightness of the colors are truly gorgeous.

Still going through it but so far a good boy for our homeschool needs.

It's a beautiful book that is so fun to look at and work through. Before I would look at inspiration online on free Waldorf resources, but this makes it so much easier.

This is an amazing book for developing prewritting skills and much more. It explains in detail the correct sitting posture and movements to reinforce writting skills for each drawing and the behavioral results that each drawing/exercise promotes.

I am so excited to do this as an enrichment activity for homeschool.

Scelto per “giocare” con un bambino di 6 anni, ha incuriosito molto anche un ragazzo di 12. Contiene numerose progressive proposte di esercizi pratici da svolgere con il bambino. Bella grafica, scritto in inglese ma semplice comunque da comprendere. Consigliato per chi voglia introdurre al grafismo in modo semplice e rispettoso dei tempi di sviluppo del bambino. Inizialmente ci sono stati problemi di arrivo del prodotto, che il venditore, molto disponibile, ha risolto immediatamente.

I love this book. I am really getting into form drawings.

This is a great book for those who want an introduction to doing form drawing with their children. Angela Lord draws on the anthroposophical tradition when it comes to form drawing and as such is not introducing anything new. But the reason you should buy this book is that she does use a lot more colours for the various exercises than seen elsewhere in literature for teaching form drawing to children. She also has the initial body prep well described so all bases are covered. Oh - and did I mention it is hard cover? Great for a book that will receive at lot of use!

Perfect for class room use or homeschooling. So many great activities for kids.
