My preferred splint—worth the extra $$
These actually work to correct hammer finger related to rotator cuff issues. I was unsure of my finger size, so ordered 2 different sizes. Glad I did because my fingers swell or “shrink” during the day. I’ve lost a couple of the larger ones as they sometimes slide off. I learned to pay attention and switch to the smaller one. Some of my students noticed and asked about them, (I wore them on my dominant writing hand), but overall they were not obvious to others. They are comfortable to wear, and both my PT and chiropractor were impressed they actually helped correct my finger alignment. I like the smooth edges, and they do not get hot like Velcro braces. Usually, I could write while wearing them but it did take some practice. If I was rushed, I would take the splint off to write—otherwise my handwriting wasn’t as legible to my students.

A must have for finger injuries!!
Hand physical therapist recommended this for my husband. He was sized at the office and we ordered them through Amazon. They have helped him with his finger recovery. Great quality, support, size and comfort.

Easy to lose
It’s awesome. I been using the thumb splint. Then why did I rate it a 3? 1) it can slip off your finger even when sized correctly by a physical therapist. For some tasks, like typing this review on my iPhone, you have to remove it. 2) it’s clear or flesh tone. If the splint unexpectedly falls off your thumb, good luck trying to find it. I’ve lost two clear and one flesh color splints in just a week. I get why people would prefer a neutral color that unobtrusively blends with most people’s skin color, but I don’t care. Make a red one or yellow or a glows in the dark option. I’m spending too much time looking for them!
