I have heard most of these albums before in quad from fan made discs and in 5.1 on DVD Audio for some titles.This is a lovingly made box which contains most of the original artwork but in CD size cardboard books.The box is a decent quality made and stores all the discs within an inner 1/2 box.The music sounds incredible, I'm very impressed how well these albums sound, with the mix of horns, guitar and some amazing drums this collection of music is very enjoyable. Some of the stuff is dated, I'm sure you know what songs I'm on about.However there is more than enough great stuff to make this a great investment in high quality audio music! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Follow Chicago's growth until their 10th album the way it was intended-in Stereo and Quad and in 96/24 BDs. *by A***L on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 January 2017* Oh, man....This is indeed a revelation.As a Surround enthusiast, I have on SQ (Quad) LPs their first (CTA), their IX-greatest hits- which was sourced from third generation tapes- and a highly sought after X; I also have the DVD-A version of their second disc.I had never listened to all of their first ten albums, only the hits, ma'am----And, even though they released the Quad mix of CTA a few years ago in lossy DTS 96/24 DVD-V,THERE IS NO COMPARISON!!!!Here you get all of their Quad mixes in 96/24 LOSSLESS (you also get the Stereo ones too!). It makes for fascinating listening experience, hearing how a brilliant band explored Rock , Jazz, Fusion, Latin...even "avant garde"!!!This was a band with a KILLER rhythm section! Yes, Peter Cetera is an incredible bassist (so is Terry Kath, but then, he had the honor of having Hendrix say of him that Terry played guitar better than he did!!!) and Danny Seraphine is one of the most underrated drummers ever.I was NOT familiar with III, VI, VII (which , to me is the biggest revelation of them all!!!) nor VIII.I savored every record the way you savour a book that you don't want to end.As the description states, they are replicas of the LPs , including posters and EVEN THE IRON ON from VIII !!!! The only thing that is missing is a booklet with some history, but, I think, in this instance, the music speaks for itself.The sound quality is indeed AMAZING (their greatest hits one was NOT sourced from third generation tapes), very crisp, without "Limiting" (no "Loudness wars" going on here), so no ear fatigue at all.Soundwise, compared to some other company that is rereleasing Quad mixes from the 70's on SACD; yes , they are FLAT TRANSFERS but they sound FLAT!!! These ones are definitely NOT FLAT sounding.Highly recommended! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and the Greatest Hits disc *by J***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 February 2017* I was (am) a big fan of Chicago, and have been following them since the early 70's. I will admit, I kind of lost interest after Chicago XI ( not in this set which runs through X) and have only purchased 3 or 4 of their "later" albums. If you are a fan of the early, shall we say, core, Chicago albums, you owe it to yourself to purchase this set. The quad mixes are an eye opener to hear, but even the stereo mixes sound much improved with more breath and instrument clarity. The brass just seems more lifelike. The only problem I have had with this set is that on the Chicago ( Chicago II) disc, and the Greatest Hits disc, some of the stereo mixes are in fact mono. All of the quad mixes are fine. I emailed "Dr. Rhino" about it and they are sending out the correct replacement discs. I understand that the new pressing does have the corrected discs. By the way, the packaging is absolutely first rate, even down to mini posters and a mini t-shirt transfer with VIII.
