Backlit Foldable Keyboard, XK01 Plus Folding Portable Bluetooth Keyboard for Travel, True Full Size External Wireless Keyboards with Backlight for iPad Tablet Smartphone Laptop - Black

I've been using the XK01 by ProtoArc, a device I originally found at a local electronics retailer and wound up buying here on Amazon. But only recently, I started to wonder if there was a backlit option for the XK01. Turns out there is, and this is it. It is EXACTLY the same product as the XK01, but the XK01 Plus has backlighting/illuminated keys. This is a light, folding keyboard that can be paired with switched between up to three Bluetooth devices simultaneously. Charging is done through a USB-C socket on top of the device, and the pilot lamp changes from orange to green when fully charged. Much like the original XK01, battery life is really good, although I imagine use of the backlight will cut into longevity. However, there are three lighting levels (in addition to "off") that you can choose from. All are white lights (so if you're hoping for one of those fancier color-selectable lighting schemes like on a gaming keyboard, this isn't for you). This is a great choice for those times when you have a lot to type or say, and you just don't feel like poking an on-screen keyboard endlessly. It can be used with a smartphone, a tablet, or laptop or desktop computer. It supports all the major OS's - Windows, Mac OS, Android, and iOS - any unit with Bluetooth on it. As far as the feel of the keys, I liked it. Key travel is far better than a membrane-style keyboard, and key response feels good (not "premium", but decent), with enough springiness. It doesn't make a lot of noise when you type on it, so if you're in a situation where silence is golden, you'll appreciate it. And, unlike many other battery-operated Bluetooth keyboards available, this has full-sized keys, meaning far fewer typing errors. Yes, you may have to adjust to the placement of a few keys here and there, but I don't think you'll find the layout to be a deal-breaker. The package comes with a carry pouch, and a USB-C cable. There is no charger included for it, but you can get one nearly anywhere these days, including here on Amazon. I can't think of a better, portable Bluetooth keyboard that's available right now. I think this is as good as it gets.

If you've been looking for a mobile, Bluetooth keyboard, that offers a tremendous amount of flexibility, has great key tap response, and is extremely portable: This Is It! I carry the ProtoArc with my in my messenger bag just about everywhere I go. It take up so little space in the bag, but folds out to a full keyboard size. I can use it a couple of hours a day for an entire week without recharging the battery. Connecting up via Bluetooth is extremely easy and you can switch between 3 different devices by pressing one button. This keyboard is so light and versatile that I've stopped carrying my laptop to the coffee shop or library. I just bring my phone on a little stand and this keyboard and I am good to go. Lastly, I am very impressed by how it feels to type on this keyboard. It will never be exactly like typing on a standard keyboard, however it gets VERY close. Using the ProtoArc keyboard has been a great enhancement to my workflow. Highly recommend.

Awesome keyboard. Love that it can quickly switch between 2 bluetooth devices as I often have my work laptop and my personal laptop next to each other. The keys feel nice, I like that it folds up and automatically turns on when it's unfolded. I charged it when I first received it and have been using it for months (not every day, but many days) without needing another charge yet. Love the little carry case it comes in and the included folding phone stand is a great little bonus. Definitely recommend.

Great keyboard. Im giving a 4 star only because it doesnt have legs to prop the keyboard up. It has to lay flat on my desk.

This ProtoArc foldable keyboard is a travel essential. It folds up small but opens into a true full size keyboard that’s comfortable for long typing sessions. The Bluetooth connection is fast and stable, and the backlit keys are perfect for low light environments. Battery life is excellent, and the build quality feels sturdy without adding bulk. If you need a portable keyboard that doesn’t sacrifice performance, this is the one to get.

Not a huge fan of portable keyboards in the past, but wanted to give this one a shot with an iPad Mini and other tablet I've got and it simply works. Its back lit so its nice when its darker or if you head out and need that. Folds out quick, connects quickly via BT, and is a nice portable keyboard.

This is exactly what I was looking for - compact, quality keyboard. Pairs easily with iPhone, now you can type on the go. Worked great right out of the box. Rechargeable, using same USB-C cable as iPhone. This will now be going everywhere.

It's decidedly less sturdy on the outside than the fully metal hinge and backplate options, but I know the moving cables are more likely to fail than the hinge anyway, if treated with care. I use a metal one from Pluggable at work, but for lighter personal use, the numpad and number of pairable devices was enough reason to try the ProtoArc. The bigger problem is the backlighting. The LEDs are not placed behind each key like most backlit keyboards. Rather, they are crammed in wherever they could fit them. This leads to the lighting being uneven, and many of the LEDs are actually between the keys, just blaring a bright LED at you while other keys are barely lit. The numpad wing in particular is poorly lit besides the bottom right corner. The green PCB is also very visible, if that bothers you. I'm undecided on whether I will exchange this for the non-backlit version. I could maybe see myself turning the backlight on in a pitch black room on the lowest setting, as it's better than nothing. Otherwise it's too much of an eyesore to leave on.

Do not buy this for a new computer as your only keyboard as you will not be able to login until you pair the device. This requires the ability to login (which requires a functional keyboard) to your computer before you are able to set it up. Which makes this keyboard absolutely useless. I had to use another keyboard (Bluetooth dongle type) to login to my computer before being able to set this one up in settings. Once properly set up and fully charged the keyboard intermittently doesn’t respond, inserts multiple characters, and just doesn’t respond (even if on the charging cable). This device is not reliable and I would not recommend it.

Preface: I had to return my product because it started exhibiting typing errors like the same key being pressed continuously (this felt like an anomaly of my unit). However, my assessment of the product is that, if it can work for as long as the manufacturer claims, it's worth the price (~55CAD). It comes with a cover and a phone stand---both of which are great. The foldability of the keyboard is also an incredible plus. The travel of the keys, however, isn't great. Additionally, the material of the keys also makes it more susceptible to oil stains (even from the skin), etc. Pressing the keys also feels a little less 'softer' and requires marginally more effort than a similarly priced keyboard like the Keychron B1 (this matters for how much it'll hurt your hands if you type for long). Overall: Great for travel, but not the choice you should make for a home keyboard.

Here is my review. I have completed my workstation. Pros: Keyboard Model XK01 is folderable, and it is easy to carry it in a nap sack or laptop bag.Comes with battery charging cable. Build quality looks good. Only time will tell the true story. EM05 NL Vertical trackball mouse is ergonomic. Comes with wireless USB-A dongle and battery charging cable. Cons: Keyboard XK01 does not have raises, hence not ergonomic. EM05 NL trackball mouse quality is lacking. Not sophisticated. There is too much plastic. Missing bluetooth dongle for enabling functional office workstation and closed access IT governance is practiced. (No Admin access + bluetooth discovery is turned off). Simple bluetooth dongle will allow BT-Keyboard, BT-mouse, and BT-headset to be integrated at a single point. New business workstations have limited USB-A and USB-C ports. Add-on: UGreen bluetooth 5.4 dongle $20.00 solved my problem.

La lettre 《D》n'était pas bien attacher donc j'ai envoyer la photo au soutien technique et quand j'ai essayer de la rattaché avec l'aide du support technique ça la fonctionner mais lorsque je flrefermais le clavier et que je le réouvrais la touche 《D》 se détachait encore donc j'ai reparler au soutien technique et la personne était très compréhensible que je suis autiste et que cela me stressais beaucoup donc elle m'a accommoder en remboursant le montant total que j'ai payé pour la commande.
