When sand and debris accumulates on your shocks it can cause excessive wear and tear to you shock seals. I have seen some poor reviews for this product and I feel like, in my humble opinion, that they are misguided. This is probably the best $10-$15 bucks you will spend on your bike. I have seen reviews that say it looks funny. I agree. It's flimsy. I agree. It gets zip tied in place instead of properly mounted with fasteners. That is true. But.....that is all by design. Yes and it should be so that if you do bash it it will simply flex out of the way and then return to its original shape instead of damaging your bike. If you happen to like the way it looks as well then great. I am an avid cyclist and I ride my mountain bike hard.
