Q: Where can 3rd party ink for the wf-7820 be purchased?

Always use EZ ink. A lot cheaper and seems to work better than Epson ink. Been using for years on my Epson XP 8390 and never had a problem. Every printer will be different so check the internet to see if off brand ink will work. And make sure that an update will not change anything.

Q: Does the tray actually hold 11x17? My current WF printer has small trays and the larger paper sticks out.

Not only does the tray hold 11 x 17 paper, but the PDF does as well. This is an important detail as not all printers that can print 11 x 17 have an ADF that can take paper that size

Q: How long does the ink stay viable before it dries up and clogs?

I am using this for business. I've had the copier for almost 90 days and have just replaced the black ink cartridge. It has worked seamlessly so far.
