GE LED+ Battery Backup Emergency Light Bulbs A21, 3 Colors, 2 Pack

I have purchased a number of these for those sudden loss of power instances we get. Each bulb is a bit pricey but well worth having if you get a sudden loss of power! READ THE ENCLOSED DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY ABOUT LEAVING THIS LIGHT BULB ON TO CHARGE THE INNER BUILT BATTERY! Suggest you put these in your lamps that you turn on regularly to keep the inner battery charged. Also acts as an emergency flashlight when you move the small slide button to the ‘flashlight’ Symbol. Our new neighbor came over knocking on our door when we had a power outage in our community wondering how we had our lights on when their newly purchased home had lost their power! I invited her in and showed her these light bulbs. I even gave 4 of these light bulbs to our old neighbor’s grandson as a practical gift when he purchased his first home. I have 2 bulbs in our living room lamps and 2 in each bedroom but make sure only ONE of the bulbs comes on during a power outage to save the other bulb in case our power is off longer than 5 hours or if we want to use it as a flashlight! Battery lasts about 5 hours.

Our power went out today because of storms. My 2 lights stayed while it was out. I did try to use one aa a flashlight but that didn't work. I believe that I did not charge it enough. Going to purchase more. Very handy.

Although pricey, they work great. Lights the room very well. I've had the same ones in my lamps for over 2 yrs now, still good light when I've needed in a power outage. I gifted a relative in a different state some, she doesn't have Amazon.

Truly great innovative product. Such an easy backup plan for power outages. Could also be used to provide light during peak-rate periods of the day, while charging during low-rate periods. Can even be used as a handheld flashlight. Great that the kelvins are also adjustable. Would be a nice bulb even without the battery backup but with that backup, it is a great bulb. Fits, looks and acts like a normal bulb. Great value for the features. I use them in all of my lamps. During a power outage, of course I won't have all the lamps on at one time so that means overall an even longer period of backup lighting will be available. Using these means I can use my other backup battery power sources for things other than lighting. Too bad more people don't seem to know about them.

These are great for permanent switched light fixtures. I do wish they were the smaller A19 size instead of A21, but they still work for my needs. I use these in a bathroom ceiling fixture that is the first in the house to be affected by power issues from the main and the brownouts from road work has ruined several quality led bulbs previously. The built in battery on these seems to have protected them. They are great for power outages as the room they're in has no windows. I only have 2 minor complaints. I am not a fan of the looks and light output only coming from the top, which is more noticeable in the larger A21 size. Also, the lights stay on for a moment after the switch is turned off, seemingly sensing if it was the switch or power. When power was out, or the breaker switched off, they do still turn on with the switch, so whatever it uses to sense is working well.

These are high-quality light bulbs. They provide sufficient light under "black out" circumstances to see to walkaround, etc.. During a recent power loss, the bulbs came on and stayed on for over two hours. Perfect for many settings. No problems with using them in a standard (or even 3 way) light socket, they fit perfectly.

If you install these bulbs in ceiling light fixtures controlled by a wall switch, when you turn the switch OFF, the lights will automatically come back ON. This means YOU CANNOT EVER switch your ceiling lights OFF. Think bedroom - don't you want to be able to turn your lights off? Think dining room - do you want your lights on all night long? These lights ONLY work with a plug in lamp (table or floor) that is NOT controlled by a wall switch. And in case you think the USB rechargeable bulbs are the answer, in the fine print they let you know that THOSE bulbs have to be recharged every 50 days or they may fail to work. Some "emergency" lighting if you have to remember to recharge them every 50 days.
