Where do you find the manufactures date on the CO2 fire extinguisher?

Carbon dioxide fire extinguishers use DOT certified pressure cylinders. The month and date are stamped near the neck of the cylinder and the extinguisher needs to be hydrostatically tested every five years or if it is used. The extinguisher should be weighed annually for certification per OSHA requirements. The gross (full with valve) and possibly tare (empty without valve) weight is also stamped on the neck, so if you use this for home use and have an accurate scale, you can check to see if and how much CO2 has leaked out. It is still recommended to have the extinguisher inspected annually, however.

Depends on what you are mounting it to, a boat or motor vehicle ? May require a vehicle mounting bracket.Inside a building it should be stored in the vertical position - see N.F.P.A. standard 10 for more information.
