Review: Excellent quality - This is an excellent quality leather. It's nice and dense, great color. That said, beware of choosing such heavy, thick leather for a belt - for the casual amateur craftsman, like me, it presents a lot of problems - punches with difficulty and the buckle you planned to use just doesn't fit. Now that I've learned my lessons, I'll try ELW's 8-9 oz version of this blank. That thickness is what I've normally used. For this one I will keep an eye out for a really heavy buckle that I can use with such thick leather. This would make a great tool belt or pistol belt, but I think it's too heavy for holding up your pants!

This is an excellent quality leather. It's nice and dense, great color. That said, beware of choosing such heavy, thick leather for a belt - for the casual amateur craftsman, like me, it presents a lot of problems - punches with difficulty and the buckle you planned to use just doesn't fit. Now that I've learned my lessons, I'll try ELW's 8-9 oz version of this blank. That thickness is what I've normally used. For this one I will keep an eye out for a really heavy buckle that I can use with such thick leather. This would make a great tool belt or pistol belt, but I think it's too heavy for holding up your pants!
