I bought this, albeit at a favourable price, as a replacement for my old, somewhat tired, unlit and non touch screen model. Initially, it seemed to be an improvement but, as I added more books, the more I began to hate it and it has twice been close to learning to fly and may yet eventually lead to its demise. What I like. - Not much at all as the old model does all of the useful things faster, easier more positive and more logical even with the switches showing signs of wearing out. What I dislike.... The touch screen. It is probably ok for small fingers with long nails but I find it unpredictable and slow. The book cover images which waste space even with the single line option. Single lines, 10 to a page and numbered pages are way better than finger tip scrolling even if you have the right fingers to make it work. The "Help" and suggestion features are nothing better than annoying and pointless. Whatever happened to the "Go to" feature which was one of the most useful features. If it has this I haven't been able find it. The reaction to some finger tip actions is often so slow as to leave one wondering if it needs to be repeated. Holding it securely in one hand tends to disable the touch screen to such an extent that I have dropped it on several occasions while trying to get a response. UPDATE. After a few difficult weeks I have updated the rating to 1 * . It really is that bad. It is fine for the reading part but the rest is utter chaos. The touch screen interface is damned near unusable and I have given up trying to download any more books as all I get is "Queued" . in settings it shows as connected to the router but the only option offered is to forget/break the connection and then restart with the password.

Overall I’m enjoying using this Kindle. However it’s taken time to get used to the very compact size (I was using a Kindle Fire before). It has malfunctioned after only a few weeks - a book I purchased would not download until I reset. After switching it off and then on all was fine. It is small and I’m still getting used to turning pages much more frequently. I do love how light and easy to carry it is. The green colour is very cool.

Bought this as a treat. Been using the kindle app on my phone for years but thought this might help with my focus (stopping me getting distracted by notifications). That works, the reading screen is also better as less blue light. So its good for me to use before bedtime. It also works in the dark so better than a real book when other person is sleeping. Downsides: the searching and browsing is truely awful. It's so slow to download and is really a pretty clunky piece of software. I search and borrow on my kindle app, read on the device.

What can I say I was hoping for a better experience.... I was obviously expecting too much Pros It's small, fits in a pocket, light so you don't feel its there and you can read books on it.... What's not to love, right? Cons The screen always has the picture on, so you feel like it's burning battery. Battery life goes down when you aren't using it so I doubt any of us will get six weeks.... Not that I've had mine that long Speed... Yeah it doesn't have that and worst of all it's not user friendly. As someone who needs glasses but cant always wear them, the home screen is too small and you can't make bigger. The home carousel section doesn't seem to have any way of deleting items unless you are removing them completely from the device Wish I hadn't bothered, could have bought something better with the money

I love this kindle! It has a built in light so that it can be read in the dark and is easy to use. Would recommend.

I had to buy a Kindle Basic because I traded in my 2021 Kindle Paperwhite to get the 2024 Signature Edition (SE) during Black Friday. However, shortly after buying, Amazon informed me that I would have to wait until February to receive it, and I cannot live without a Kindle. Thankfully, the Basic wasn't too expensive, so I bought it as a temporary measure. I'm happy to say that it does the job fine; however, the battery is awful. I've only had it for just over a week, and I've already had to charge it twice (even with it being on airplane mode and using it for only 1-2 hours a day). Compared to my old Paperwhite, which only needed charging once a month, this is a significant downgrade. That said, it is very compact, speedy and light, and it will tide me over until my new SE arrives. I will probably still keep the Basic once the SE is in my hands, but only for journeys to work.

My third Kindle and both the smallest and weakest battery. I've also had repeated trouble trying to connect to the Internet.

I couldn't be more pleased. This is lighter, faster, and easier to read than my previous keyboard Kindle purchased in 2010. One book ordered showed in my library almost instantaneously which means it's very responsive. It was easy to set up. I like the fact that the brightness of the back light can be altered to suit every environment. Reading on a Kindle is much preferred when travelling - the font can be enlarged to facilitate vehicle movement - and when outdoors - no more flapping pages. It's light to hold while reading snuggled under the duvet and can be controlled with one hand. If it's like the older keyboard Kindle which I had for 16 years, it's durability should be sound as should its storage capacity. The Matcha Green colour is delightful as is the fact that it can be slipped into either my coat pocket or shoulder bag.

Ultra légère, l’écran est très doux pour les yeux (même en lisant plusieurs heures), et l’autonomie est bonne Le stockage est largement suffisant, le tactile réactif, et pouvoir emporter des centaines de livres dans un si petit format change vraiment la vie. Parfait pour les transports, les vacances ou le soir au lit. Franchement, si vous aimez lire, c’est un investissement que vous ne regretterez pas. Je l’adore !

Ottimo e-reader: leggero, compatto e comodissimo da portare ovunque. Lo schermo antiriflesso e la luce regolabile rendono la lettura piacevole in ogni momento. Veloce e fluido, con tanta memoria: perfetto per chi ama leggere . Il colore verde matcha è stupendo👍
