This is the real deal. The original. Superior quality over others bearing the same part number. These are just made better. Stronger prongs. Better quality metal that resists corrosion much longer. I made the mistake of buying the cheaper version and it last only about 6 months, and 8 times on the water. Meanwhile, others on the boat that were original bearing the MEP branding are still great after 4 years.

I am using this on a riding mower to power a pull sprayer. I replaced a cigarette lighter that did not hold up to the weather. Seems to work well. The plug is a tight fit. I think it is to keep the water out.

was going to return but didn't
I have an older boat that I just bought and bought a new trolling motor for it. The power plugs did not match so I ordered this receptacle so I could use the new trolling motor. when I was going to wire in the new connections, I found that the old receptacle had 3 wires to it instead of 2. I was going to return them. On the way to the UPS store I stopped buy a Marine dealer and talked to them. They said my plug on the boat was obsolete and that I needed a 2 wire connector and told me how to wire it in. Easy fix! Trolling motor works fine...Now I am ready to go fishing!!!
