8BitDo Ultimate 2C Bluetooth Controller for Switch/Switch 2, Wireless Controller with 6-Axis Motion Control, Rumble Vibration, Refined D-Pad and Bumpers, and Hall Effect Joysticks (Blue)

I bought this controller for my girlfriend months ago and it’s her absolute favorite controller. It’s comfortable, a great price for a controller, has hall effect, and is purely bluetooth compatible (no dongle to lose). I’ve always loved this brand, and I highly recommend it. I personally have the regular (Ultimate C) version of this controller as well as the SM30 pro, but I would recommend this one over the regular. The controller’s joysticks are the standard size, so it’s compatible with any joystick grips used for Xbox or PlayStation.

Read the other reviews for details on how the controller actually works -- I've been an 8bitdo fan for years and they're great controllers -- but this is just to say that this controller is 100% switch 2 compatible with a very easy firmware update. All you have to do is go to their support website, find this controller, and then download their updater. It's both Mac and PC compatible (seriously that's such a perk for me) and it took maybe 5 mins tops from downloading the updater to playing mariokart with it on my new switch 2. Worth every penny and I'll be even more of a brand loyalist forever now!

great controller! i wanted a pro switch controller for the longest, but i couldn't justify the price - so glad i went with this one! joysticks are smooth, my only complaint is the YXAB buttons are a little “hard” and the typeface is ugly lol. comfy to hold for long term use and holds the charge for several hours, would def purchase again if i ever need to!

I’ve been using the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Bluetooth Controller (Blue) for a few weeks now, and overall, it’s an excellent piece of hardware. The build quality feels solid and premium, especially for the price. The buttons, refined D-pad, and hall effect joysticks are super responsive, and the 6-axis motion control and rumble work seamlessly with the Switch.One of the biggest positives for me has been the battery life—it lasts much longer than I expected on a single charge. I can game for days without needing to plug it in, which is a huge plus.That said, the one downside is the texture of the outer shell. It’s not uncomfortable, but it does feel a bit slick, especially during long sessions. I really wish 8BitDo offered a silicone sleeve or grip cover to improve the tactile feel and help with grip. It would make the controller perfect.All in all, it’s a great controller with impressive performance and endurance, especially at this price point. With just a bit of added attention to ergonomics or accessories, it would be unbeatable.

It says that it supports the Switch 2, and it does, but you'll need to connect the controller to a PC to update the firmware. Just google "8bitdo firmware update", then click + drag the files out of the compressed folder and into any other, regular folder, then start the application. It's pretty simple, but I imagine that it would be confusing for someone who has never updated any sort of firmware or drivers before.

This is an awesome controller. Also even though it doesn’t say it on here or the 8bitdo website, this controller is compatible with Mac even though it’s not on the list of Mac compatible controllers on the 8bitdo site. So if you are looking for a controller that works with any of the M series Mac computers this will work.

Work great, and by far the most comfortable switch controllers we have (for adults, but kids seem to like them too). Sticks have nice feel and return to center very well..

Unfortunately when we moved over to Switch 2, this stopped working. Apparently it needs a patch, but for some reason this specific model is not listed in the USB updater tool, and the manual patch EXEs only work on Windows. I even tried using Wine on mac and a virtual machine. Hopefully this is resolved soon, otherwise this is a paperweight.Edit: I found a Mac patch on a reddit thread with a functioning binary. It's still a bit frustrating that my own support email was never answered. Thankfully it worked out but for others buying this for the Switch 2, you will need to jump through some hoops to get it working.
