Wrist Thumb Brace Mommy Compression Stabilizer Thumb Spica Splint

I ordered these for my 86 year old mother to help with her arthritis pain in her thumb. She already had a couple of thumb splints with velcro straps that she used sometimes but she didn’t like wearing them as they were too bulky and complicated to get on with only one hand to tighten and secure the straps. They were also very rigid and when wearing them she couldn’t use her hand well enough to pick things up or hold things effectively. When we received these I was doubtful as they are so sheer and lightweight. It didn’t seem like they would offer much support or stability but my doubts were unwarranted. Mom LOVES them! She can wear them all day and spend hours playing her games on her iPad with her stylus without any pain. They are very thin and form fitting with no bulky straps. They are very easy for her to slip on and off with only one hand. The pink/beige color blends well with her skin tone and doesn’t stand out. She isn’t self conscious about wearing them in public as they are barely noticeable. The rigid thumb support inside them is still flexible enough to allow her to pick things up, write and use the stylus for gaming on her iPad while still restricting her thumb movement enough to prevent her pain. She is VERY happy with these thumb braces and I am very happy see her using her hands pain free.

This should be five stars. The fabric is amazing. Soft, pliable, breathable. The form is spot on, even for big arthritic joint/knuckles. FATAL DESIGN FLAW: they connected the material in the wrap of the thumb, right at the inner ‘soft spot’ at the base of the thumb where you grip, and it’s a weird corner tuck they did so it’s very small and feels like a knot in there. After that rubs from the inside on a sore arthritic thumb joint it’s unbearable and red and swollen after about 30 mins of wear. I couldn’t get it to reposition out. It’s just in the worst place possible. Sad to return this - I love the rest of it but if I just cut the knot out it’s gonna pull somewhere else and cut into circulation. So back it goes.

This is very thin and lightweight fabric. It should be easy to wear regularly if you have the right fit. Really a compression sleeve for the thumb and wrist. It has to be pulled on because there is no way to adjust the fit. I'm glad I wasn't trying to put it on when my thumb was really hurting. Size/Fit -- My wrist is just barely 6 inches and I got the Small, but I should have gotten the Medium because I'm wondering if it is reducing the circulation to the tip of my thumb too much. Minimal amount of thumb support from the inserts. It could be used if thumb pain is just starting to try to head it off, or if recovering and so reducing the amount of support. Washable, although I haven't had it long enough to wash.

I have small hands and wrists so the small size works very well for me. It is the most comfortable wrist/thumb brace I have ever worn. However, I can understand other people's complaints. Clearly, everyone has different needs in terms of support. If you need more than light support, this is not the brace for you. I was specifically looking for something lightweight that could get wet and dry quickly. I am being careful putting it on and taking it off because it is flimsy. I haven't torn it yet but I'm sure the day will come but, for me, that is okay. I need long term support so I will probably sign up to have this auto-shipped on a regular basis. I do think it is a bit pricey for what you get but this is exactly what I was looking for and I love it.

Very tight , difficult and painful to get on . Thumb hole ripped in second day of wearing . Very soft material though

I couldn't wear these as they were much too tight. I tried to return them but was instructed to keep them and Amazon provided a credit to my account. This is not a negative to the seller, the item was just too tight for my hand.

Nice product for thumb pain, it’s just thin enough it’s not annoying or sweaty, and it has a sturdy plate to keep your thumb straight! Would definitely buy again if needed too. But I think this will last for a long time!

Sadly it became unglued the first day while wearing it. Have small hands so ordered the small which fit. The item is just glued together as the material which is elastic wraps around the hand. A Med. would have been too big and the bar that runs up the thumb would not have given support. Don't waste your money.

Waste of money Hardly a support....just a cloth wrap!
