Great Product
This product is a fantastic find! It's reasonably priced, making it accessible for most budgets without compromising on quality. The product is exactly as described, and its usefulness cannot be overstated. I've found it to be incredibly practical and efficient in meeting my needs. The attention to detail is impressive, and the performance is on par with more expensive alternatives. If you're looking for something reliable, well-made, and at a fair price point, this is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!

Great for camper/rv
Bought this for the camper. Easy to setup. Can be mounted. Very loud during the testing. Seems well made and very light weight. Gave us peace of mind while camping.

Simple, Reliable CO Alarm for Peace of Mind
Simple, Reliable CO Alarm for Peace of Mind The Kidde battery-powered carbon monoxide detector is an easy and affordable way to add an extra layer of safety at home. I like that it runs on batteries, which makes it portable and flexible—you can mount it on a wall or just place it on a shelf without worrying about wiring. The test/reset button is straightforward, and the LED indicators give quick reassurance that it’s working. It’s very lightweight but still feels solidly built, and installation was as simple as popping in the batteries. The low battery chirp is loud enough to notice, and the alarm itself is piercing, which is exactly what you want if it ever goes off in an emergency. Because it’s battery-powered, you’ll need to stay on top of changing batteries regularly, but the trade-off is portability—you can move it between rooms or even take it on trips. For long-term setups, combining it with a hardwired or plug-in unit gives the best coverage. Bottom line: A dependable, no-frills carbon monoxide alarm that’s easy to install and portable—an inexpensive safety essential for any home.

A must have item for travel
My husband and I travel quite a bit and recently I have been hearing these stories about people who stayed in hotels in different countries and who died while sleeping from carbon monoxide poisoning. We were planning a trip to 2 countries with two other couples and after seeing these stories, I immediately decided to order these items for the 3 couples. These are very easy to use, appears to be good quality. Instructions are clean. Display is very easy to read. When tested, the alarm is quite loud and would surely wake you up from a deep sleep. We took the alarms on our trips and placed on the bedside tables. I like the fact that these are battery operated in steady of plug in. I will just change batteries before each trip. These now have a permanent place in my suitcase. Also note that it's not very heavy so does not take it a lot of space in suitcase. Note that i am giving it 5 stars, though obviously I can only tell if it performs exactly the way it should, if I am in an area with high carbon monoxide. I hope never to have that experience but if I do and all goes well, I will be back to update. If not.... well.

Nice piece of essential household equipment
This was easy to set up and install. I am glad that I did not buy another corded model, because this battery operated one can be installed in the best place for detection, not the best place for power. It the sensors in all these CO detectors have a definite life span, 5 years or so, and the other advantage of this model is it will not be nearly as expensive to own over its lifespan compared with the corded models. While this one does not have the bells and whistles such as an LED panel to indicate CO levels and to remind you that it is functioning, it will alarm as soon as CO levels reach harmful levels, and it has a small green led that flashes every 30 seconds to inform you that it is operating and functioning properly. After owning two other CO detectors I would recommend that one simply figure out a way to remind yourself to routinely replace these at the 5 year life span point, because when they finally wear out they alarm. Our first one did so while we were gone and not knowing what was happening when we returned and found it alarming we were told by the gas company to stay out of the home and call the fire department. Our whole community volunteer fire department arrived. They donned their respirator masks and marched quick time, into our home with their axes in port arms position! Though they were going to start demolishing the place (they looked ready, willing, and very able to). What nice Saturday night entertainment for the neighborhood. We learned from the Fire Chief that CO detectors just wear out and that our house was safe to occupy. The second CO detector "wore out" in the middle of the night. It was during the summer so I knew that it wasn't our gas furnace that had gone faulty, etc., but what a way to be awakened. I wrote the five year from purchase date right on the cover of this one so I know when to replace it. Recommend this model and feel that every home should have one of these as well as smoke alarms. A small price to pay to avoid asphyxiation.

it’s not right to ship it out like that, sending it back for a refund

J'ai acheté ce modèle il y a 10 ans et c'est le terme de ce produit, alors comme les 10 ans étaient terminées, j'en ai acheté un autre identique car j'étais très satisfaite de ce modèle. Merci
