I made a mistake and took it out and left it in the cupboard, it was OK for ages but near the end of the date shown, it was not rising as well. I think it might even go past the date if stored in the fridge. **Q: Can this be used to make bread?** A: Yes I use it with a bread machine, it great! once opened put in an air type container and keep in the fridge or it can loose its ability to rise as well. **Q: should this be dissolved in water first or not?** A: I use it for bread making , I either add it straight if the recipe says to or dissolve it in water if the recipe says to.
