Ratt released their last full-length record of the Atlantic era, Detonator, in 1990. Music was changing but Detonator was still a success, peaking at #23 on the Billboard 200 and going GOLD. The first album to feature major outside songwriting contributions (Desmond Child, Diane Warren) and guests (Jon Bon Jovi, Michael Schenker), it includes lead single, "Lovin' You's A Dirty Job," which hit #18 on the Mainstream Rock chart, while power ballad "Giving Yourself Away," reached #39. The album features the classic line-up of Stephen Pearcy (vocals), Warren DeMartini (guitars), Robbin Crosby (guitars), Juan Croucier (bass/vocals) and Bobby Blotzer (drums). CD Digipak. Review: Superb and lots of fun! - Every track is engaging, starting with the catchy "Shame, shame, shame". The sequence is consistently good, with clever lyrics and great musical textures. Full of vitality. Clean vocals. Lots of fun. A brilliant album! Review: Detonator!!!! - By the time Detonator was released, I had sort of lost all hope in Ratt. I just noticed that for the last 2 or 3 studio albums, their music had lost it's spark that always had atrracted me to them, and everything just seemed blah. I will say however one thing that stands out on this album is Production Production, Production!!! It's by far their best sounding release to date, and the songs have the Ratt sound, but it's a little Scorpions-like in feeling. Teaming up with Desmond Child on the songwriting may have been a good thought as far as collaboration, but it sort of went over the edge on production. Sort of lacking on this album also is the DiMartini/Crosby dual guitar attack. Here,It's mostly DiMartini. Crosby himself claims he didn't have much to do with the arranging or writing at all. He did however play the rhythm guitar section. I believe by the time this album was completed, it would be the last time Crosby would ever play on a RATT album again. Lovin' You's a Dirty Job(Catchy tune, great song!), Hard Time(another good one),One Step Away (if you like pop, a bit too much like Steven Tyler?) Heads I Win, Tails You Lose(good, but DeMartini overdoes it a bit on the guitar work) Top Secret(Great, Old RATT style song) I bought it, I'm not sorry I did. If you like RATT, then indulge and make this purchase. You will experience a much more polished sound than you ever heard from RATT.

Used CD in Great Shape But Jewel Case Is Busted Up
This obviously is a very old CD and no longer available as new, at least via Amazon and its associated sellers. I get that part, and wanted a copy anyway. The CD itself is excellent. The jewel case is busted up and will be trashed, to be replaced by another. Seller advertised this sale as in Very Good Condition. At the price paid, perhaps a new jewel case was in order. The important part is that the CD is in excellent shape and plays without issue.

Great pressing
Great record. Sounds amazing, crisp, and clear. No pops or skips. Not a big fan of colored vinyl; prefer it black.

Ratt-still pumping out great music.
This Ratt album was released just as metal music was declining in popularity, but it still brings great classic sound. Just because the public went stupid with grunge doesn't mean the good groups still didn't rock. They still do today as well.
