Not at all. But I personally loved it *by G***D on 4 January 2020* Watamote is a series that many will find off-putting. The "cringe comedy" and often cynical nature of the series is something that can seem downright repulsive to some people. But for me, I thought this series was great. As someone who has dealt with a lot of the issues the protagonist faces throughout the series, I can relate to Watamote in a way that I can with very few other pieces of media out there. Obviously it's very exaggerated and I won't act like it's a perfect reflection of my life or anything, but it does feel quite accurate to life for many people who struggle with social anxiety and making friends. Even the cynical and nearly hopeless tone that the series can have at points feels earned simply because I felt that it was believable and reflects what many people who struggle with these issues can feel like. Not to mention, it makes the more sincere moments in the series have all the more impact. Overall I would recommend this only if you think you can get through some intentionally VERY cringe inducing scenes.
