It will cook 3 of their measuring cups worth and it takes about 15-20 minutes. It always seems quick and I never get to it exactly when it is done. I use Jasmine rice. As stated by S. Garfield, I limit myself to 2 cups also and pick up the lid a couple of times because some water does escape when that much rice is in the cooker.
