iPad mini MAG Case for iPad mini 6th Generation Black

I already own Quad Lock mounts, so this was an obvious choice. I enjoy the sleekness of the case, and most of all the grip is comfortable. As some reviews have mentioned, the magnet ring alone is not strong enough to hold onto a metal surface; the iPad Mini will slowly slide down. However, I found that with the Quad Lock Folio cover attached, it absolutely stays on the metal surface. With the folio cover attached, you have the center magnet ring, the magnets on the edge of the case, and the magnets on the cover; all together has a very strong hold. I've tried it on the metal cabinets at work (as shown in the photos), and on the fridge at home. There are other cases with strong magnets with for wall mounting, but if you want to stay with a Quad Lock setup, and also be able to use magnetically mount it to a metal surface, it is doable.

The case fits the 7th ipad mini perfectly. It locks in place with the quadlock system, very well. The release tab is pre bent so it’s easy to release. The magnet in the case is too weak for anything purposeful but will grab other stuff just enough to drag it off the table and on to the floor.

So if your going to sell a product that works with your existing products you beta test right… Quad lock missed that one on this case! If you are wanting to use with the standard locking mechanism, it’s very likely you will not be able to release the mechanism like you would with a phone. This is due to the oversized surface of the iPad mini… miss the mark quad lock! Second don’t bother trying to use the mag mount option, the magnet is the weakest on the market and fall off the mount by simply running over a pot hole…. Icing on the cake is when I wrote quad lock to help in a return of the product, I was told that it was beyond the return period and I was out of luck even after I explained that 14-20 days of the 30 days were spent waiting for a mag mount to fix the issue of not being able to use the standard locking mechanism mounts. Time to move past the Quad and invest in a case that provides protection and functions as designed, maybe Rockform, Ram Mount or another company that will work with their loyal customers.

I purchased this case because it was listed as and shown in the video as magnetic. My personality has a greater chance of holding my iPad mini to a fridge, beam, industrial machine (all tried).

Bought for our iPad mini w/cellular Solid case. Very robust. Useful with Quad locks mounting options. We bought this case as the cover was removable and magnetic. We are able to mount this on the dash of our SUV for use of a larger GPS screen while off-roading. Locks on well and stays put. Cons?- it’s a heavy case. It’s very expensive for what it is.
