Anymore, if you put in an insurance claim, they want video from your dash cam. It just speeds thing up. I drive 30 miles one way to work in a very rural county. Deer jump out all the time. You sw eve to avoid. Go off the road, and the insurance company tells you it would have been easier if you had hit the deer because there would be a carcass as proof there was a deer. Um.. no. So, I got the dash cam to provide other evidence there was a deer, lol. Got it two months ago and last week, an oncoming car swerved into my lane for no apparent reason. I went into ditch to avoid a head on. They kept going. I showed the cop the video and he got the plates and saw they were looking down before swerving into my lane. Yeah, the quality of picture is that good. Saw plates, saw driver. So, insurance is happy, cops have evidence of who was at fault and my car is being fixed ... courtesy of the other driver's insurance. It was easy to install, just fit it behind my rearview mirror. Plugged it into my cigarette lighter and I was good to go. You download an app that gives you control. You also can control it using voice. You can command it to take photos, record audio, etc. It's really user-friendly.

Overall good product. Video and photo quality are good enough. Video quality is a bit inconsistent. In high light, overexposure can be a problem. In low light, bright headlights can lead to over exposure. In true darkness, exposure is okay but quality can be problematic. Clear sharpening processing happening which can make well lit video look a bit jagged. Overall good image capture though. Fairly certain it cant see above 64gb cards. I currently have a 128gb card installed and it caps out at 300 videos captured at around 200mb each... aka about 60gb. Occasionally get errors about card speed, especially when in warmer weather, but otherwise no issues. Card installed is the spec outlined in the manual, if not better. Auto start/stop recording feature is nice. Helps save space on device. If the flashing light is annoying to you, it is able to be toggled via the application, which works surprisingly well! Plenty of options to choose from, including resolution changes, microphone status, date/time settings, etc.. My biggest complaint is the power cable. The connector is common, however the 20V cigarette lighter plug is hard wired to the power cable... this means if the cable fails, good luck. I have not yet tested to see if my own cables would work with the device on a different plug, but I have had other budget products have significant issues in the past, so be advised. Otherwise, for most cars, the cable is long enough to be snaked trough the headliner and door frame, and plugged in. In a modern CN7 Elantra the placement of the 20V in the front is less than desirable but it does have the length! Overall good. Some areas could be better, but for a budget camera device this does a lot right.

Works very well. Installation isn’t real hard with video reviews and planning. Cameras work very well and images are sharp. I like many of the features. Easy app to smartphone with WiFi, set up with multiple features. I put one in my Toyota Camry and another in our Subaru Outback. I bought a multiplug adaptor for the cigarette lighter feed for the outback and have run the power cord to the inside of the console. I like the little tune it sends when it is turned on or off. Changing the screen is easy with 5 options. Downloading images or videos is easy as well as taking a snapshot. The loop recording feature is very good! I have it set at 1 minute, but 2 minutes and 5 minutes are options!! Price is very good for features offered, and all the wiring is included except for an alternate power source to operate the parking monitoring. The wiring is there to make the rear camera work in backup mode. Overal I am very satisfied with this produce and I would recommend it!
