Kenwood Vs Kitchen Aid.....Phew!
I bought the Kenwood Major KMM023 after a year deciding whether to buy the Kitchen Aid (KA) or the Kenwood Major (KM). The KA does look great and forms part of kitchen art in the kitchen. However, I did a lot of research between the 2 machines. It seems that they can do many of the same things however on balance it was the strength, build and power of the KM that won me over. The question is do you want kitchen art or peace of mind that the machine will deal with some heavy work. The KA will cope with many tasks but reading many reviews and watching some You Tube reviews did show the KM had the slight edge. There is a good written review called 'Kenwood vs. Kitchen Aid: which mixer is best?' by Charlotte Pike....here she is making granary bread and explains the difference. She gives a very well balanced unbiased account of both machines. This review together with a friend of mine who had a KM helped me decide the KM was for me......and I use it most days. The thought that something costing more must be better does not apply here. The mega pack come with a lot of accessories for the price. However, I bought a few extra on top.All the accessories are easy to fit and clean. I have most of them and the one that I feel less happy with is the pasta maker.....you need 3 hands to stop it breaking. The pasta roller is brilliant. So now I use this to roll the pasta (which is the hard work) and use my old manual machine to cut spaghetti, tagliatelle etc.The sausage filler is awesome and quick to use. I used ground Pork Shoulder and garlic flakes and nothing else. Mixed it in the KM and then used the filler....I have friends that ask me to make them for them. I get the skins from Weschenfelder & Sons great service and cost. The food processor is excellent too....really quick to fit, use and clean up.It is a lot of money to spend on a kitchen gadget...so you want to get it right. If I had bought the KA I am sure I would be happy with it but I think I would always be wondering if I had done the right thing.....I don't have these thoughts now that I have the Kenwood Major Titanium KMM023.....Phew!I hope this helps

Wonderful machine
I am so pleased with this mixer. It is quieter and much more robust than my old (very old) previous K Chef, and the quality of all the attachments is excellent. I use it for making bread (I was afraid it would break the old one, having burned out a motor on a previous one using the dough hook) and that saves lots of time and the results are great. The bowl cover reduces splashes (but do remove it when pouring in syrup for macarons and italian meringue as otherwise it hits the sides of the bowl rather than the bottom where you want it). The bowl is huge so good for bigger quantities of cake mixes etc and the flexible beater eliminates scrape-down. The processor, blender, mill and citrus juicer are excellent and do a great job. I haven't tried the mincer and sausage filler yet, but will in time. All that and it has timeless and stylish stainless steel practicality and good looks. Well done Kenwood and Amazon, a nice price for a great machine.

Poor Quality.
I have had a Kenwood Major for 36 years and found it indispensable (model A707a). I decided to treat myself to a new model with lots of attachments. It came with damaged paintwork and made a clanging noise when under load. Despite the fact that the motor was rated at 1200Watts (my old one was only 450Watts) it laboured when making bread and the doe stuck to the new style doe hook and simply spun up the middle. No matter how you adjusted the height of the new style K beater it failed to effectively mix all the ingredients without continually stopping and scraping the bowl. I'm very disappointed with Kenwood. Amazon as usual we're very good and gave me a full no quibble refund. I've now serviced my old Kenwood and bought many secondhand attachments from eBay. Back on track.

Breads actually taste better (which we didnt think possible) our homemade sausages are ...
After using 40+ year old Kenwoods with just the basic 3 attachments & an old Kenwood wisk for general cake baking we decided to start baking bread, making our own sausages plus a multitude of other cost saving foods that we can process ourselves. After a failed refurb of a A707A Major we decided to buy new & after looking at all variants inc Kitchen Aid we decided on the Mega Pack.Be prepared for a heavy box, its about 1000x500x400 & weighs around 30kg. Our delivery driver asked us to get it from the van (sux to be you pal)Its well worth the ยฃ650 we paid for it & its been used daily since we got it. Breads actually taste better (which we didnt think possible) our homemade sausages are excellent, the flexible beater is brilliant.Everything is manufactured to a high standard/quality. Everything fits well & works as it should.I'll return to this in a few months to update the long term usage. But for this price its defiently 5*

Looks good, works well.
Bought this to replace a 1960's model Chef plus attachments, which still works but getting a bit chipped and noisy, and spares are no longer available, as Kenwood tersely advised me! ("what do you expect? Your model is over 50 years old!") So, decided to get the 21st century model -wife and self are pleased with it so far. Only the instructional DVD was omitted from the well packed case - spoke to Kenwood Customer Service and a DVD should be with us within 10 days. We bought this based on the quality and durability of our old mixer, and this one appears to be up to par on that score. Some attachments are better designed and easier to clean. The machine is bigger and heavier than the old one, but looks capable of doing all that my dear wife (and me on occasions) will ask of it.
