Brand new this is absolutely razor sharp and the knife held up well over the years. I finally lost it the other week and immediately looked for it and found this lovely new edition which is the same but has a better pivoting rivet. Absolutely awesome! I never had to sharpen the original except for a few passes on knife rasp once a year. It did not stay absolutely razor sharp, but stayed very sharp non the less. Best knife/box opener ever! ### ⭐⭐⭐ I would have given this a 4, but... *by C***H on March 7, 2008* I like this knife. I like the design, the 440 Stainless Steel blade, and the size. There are only a few minor deterrents. First, the hinge action on the blade arrives a little loose for easy opening, and if it's too loose for your liking, you'll need an Allen Wrench of a particular size to tighten the blade. The Micarta is fairly durable, though is a paper-base, creating a slight feeling of flimsiness, though I haven't had any problems yet. The blade doesn't arrive very sharp, and as such, a sharpener is nearly a must. There was also a little bit of stain on one side of the handle that looks suspiciously like rust. But for the price, definitely a good buy for collection or practical use.
